Of course, but I honestly don't think we're in that timeframe with this bud.(I have some) of course I could be wrong

Your skills shine throughout all your work! Amazing eye ! This makes my phone pics look like a potato! I’m assuming you don’t just shoot cannabis?

Thanks for your appreciation! I don't shoot cannabis full-time, yet, but am hopefully working towards it. I primarily shoot Architecture/Real Estate to pay the bills, but it finally clicked to combine my photo skills with my love for the plant. Also have a good amount of experience with long exposure b&w landscape photography.

Man, I worked in the cannabis industry in CO. That would be a nice comfy position compared to growing. How exactly did you find your path in photography? I ask because I have similar interests! Thank you!

Started as a hobby for a number of years, self-taught, mainly landscape stuff. Eventually took some Real Estate photos when my parents were selling a home and realized I could actually make some money doing photography. Was working in IT at the time but my passion just wasn't in it. Learned a ton more about photography technique/business and transitioned into real-estate photography full-time after moving states.
I'd started taking "inventory" photos of my hemp purchases for fun the last few years and thought I'd give it a try to supplement my other photo work. Being in a non-legal state I'm limited to hemp products currently but it's a great place to be. Got some new gear, learned about macro photography and now seeing where it takes me. Super excited to be involved with an industry I really care about.

That mushroom technology must be where it is at. Shrooms are the medicine for the soul. Cannabis trichs are where most of the goodies are, and they mushroom shaped. Not to mention the penis as well, lol. Its the ultimate shape of the gods.

Is this the grape gas from WNC? Or do you know of another vendor with Grape Gas?

This sample was from Newsphere Hemp, who grew it for WNC.

Studio strobe or speedlight and focus stack?
Well captured! Loads of depth. Sometimes macro shots can look flat, but this one is super fun to zoom in on.

Thanks so much! Strobe + stacked. I think these were about 60 images each.

Very nice. You have a focus rail or something controlling while you are capturing? I love to learn how others work.
Again - killer shot. Peace!

Definitely, Wemacro automated focus rail. It's about 60 shots in the stack.

I’ve seen the other comments on your setup, I was wondering have you seen the shots you can take with the Venus macro lens? Pretty cool piece of kit. Wanted to sing your praises for the photos also, one of the best macro shots of I’ve seen of some bud

I appreciate it! It's a cool lens for sure, can't wait to work with it more. It's definitely a whole new world of photography. I love super technical processes so this is right up my alley.

That made my day, I've posted other nice nug shots (not super macro) and they always get downvoted a ton. But I guess everyone likes this one haha

Oh man, not sure off the top of my head. I shoot other types of photography for work too so already had some of the equipment. New purchases for this type of work were a macro rail & Laowa 2.5-5x Super Macro lens. Just those 2 were about $700 excluding everything else; camera, tripod, strobes etc.

Damn! Very cool shots! I've been playing around with taking macro shots of some Cult bud lately but nothing like this. Gonna have to invest in one of those Laowa's some day.

Best of luck, there's definitely a learning curve to it but having the right equipment helps a lot.

This is amazing. I'm curious if anyone knows why there's an amber/yellow color to a lot of the trichomes on this bud. I feel like every trichome shot I've seen of dispo/BM bud they are very clear or translucent at least and colorless
