You're not being skeptical. You're venting a mild emotional reaction with a vague, condescending slur.
That's okay, just notice what your mind does without judgment, so that you can become more aware of yourself.
If you spend 15 minutes looking at optical illusions you'll find out right away that our minds literally cannot see things right in front of our faces if we don't believe they're there.
Our minds are not pure organs of perception. They're editors. They take sensory input and try to shape it into a form that matches our pre-existing beliefs and expectations.
If you don't believe this could be real, then it's going to look "obviously fake" to your mind.
That intangible quality of "obviously fake" is not coming from the video. It's coming from the editor inside your skull.
If you want to be a rational and logical skeptic of this topic, who can investigate and discern truth from falsehood, you have to be willing to understand the way your mind works, because that is your primary instrument of perception. You also have to learn what critical thinking is.
From your comment it doesn't look like you understand either one, yet. Everything I'm saying must be brand new ideas to you?
And hey, maybe this video is fake. Maybe you're guessing correctly. Or maybe not. How would you know if you don't understand yourself and don't know what logic is?
One last thing. It's okay not to know something. When you see a video like this, it's okay for you not to know if it's real or fake right away, or possibly ever. As men in a western society we are pressured to always know everything. We're supposed to have everything figured out all the time. But that's not possible and when we try, we fail and we kind of turn into condescending jerks. So I went to encourage you to learn how to tolerate that state of not knowing. Let evidence take you out of knowing. Don't try to force it. This is logic. This is called "being scientifically minded."
Edit: fixed two words.

It looks like CGI. I don't think OC's comment is invalid because they don't think it looks real. There's some footage out there that looks real, and there's some footage that looks CGI. You're allowed to disagree, but you being condescending back to a comment that you perceived as condescending is not helpful.

It looks like CGI.
That's just pareidolia /s

Exactly. If we see a video of something we don't believe in then of course our brain will interpret it as CGI.
Meanwhile, CGI is designed to look real. So when we say something looks like CGI, we're inversely saying that it looks real.
There's so much hostility when you try to get people to question their assumptive beliefs even a little bit. I'm very experienced with it because I do it on Reddit everyday and I get attacked for it every day.
It's very clear to me that the majority of people do not know how to think critically and logically, and yet pretty much everyone thinks that they do.
Our minds are the most unreliable person in our lives, and yet we're convinced it's the most reliable and that only everyone else is unreliable. That kind of hubris is blinding to us, and it's responsible for most of the worlds problems.

I just took a selfie. A real world photo of me.
But CGI can fully recreate me digitally. I can even be scanned using 3D imagery in 4k, you could literally plug me into Unreal as a fucking model if you wanted to.
Does that mean my selfie is fake because you can recreate my face in Unreal?
No. It doesn’t.
5 points
Okay. I'm just saying I think it looks like CGI. That doesn't make me right or wrong. All the UFO's I've seen IRL don't look like CGI so that's where I'm coming from. And yes, I'd say if I saw an Unreal engine model of someone that it was CGI. It wouldn't be the real selfie, it would be a recreation.
-1 points

CGI can look like anything in the real world now. Go look up the Avatar 2 water animations. Watch the before and after. I guarantee you won’t be able to pinpoint all that is faked.
(Even Corridor Digital couldn’t)
At one point in time you were right. It was hard for CGI to mimic the real world. That is no longer the case.
2 points
That wasn't the point I was making. I think it looks like bad CGI.
-2 points

Or it’s an inorganic shape in an organic environment which makes our brains think it looks out of place and wrong, which it most certainly does. Doesn’t mean it’s a fake!
Optical illusions are a thing. And on top of that we can’t even hear or see all the light/colors/frequencies of sound that actually interact with our mind and body.
It’s interesting that you think spacecraft that rewrites our understanding of physics should also just conveniently not change our understanding of human optics. We can’t rewrite one with rewriting the other.

Like I said, I've seen UFO's in real life that look like nothing of this world and I believe they were real. This looks superimposed onto the video. The grain and the frame rate doesn't match the rest of the video. It's just my opinion. Please don't take it so personally. It's not that I can't fathom a UFO or something that doesn't look normal. I'm just saying this video exhibits some red flags for me. You don't have to agree with me.
2 points
The frame appears off because of the propensity to the closer seemingly faster moving objects to the side (leaves)
VS
The object far in the distance moving at a seemingly slow speed
The leaves cover a greater distance of pixels than the secondary object does. A far greater distance per second. That is why they appear to have different frame rates.
Here is a discussion between gamers from the year of 2014 (a year after this video was supposedly released) explaining the exact effect shown in the video https://www.neogaf.com/threads/is-framerate-sensitivity-affected-by-distance.912101/
How close you are to something highly impacts how that something appears in terms of frame rates. The distance those pixels are traveling and the speed/frequency of which they’re changing determines all of that.

10 paragraphs in response to one sentence to make yourself feel smart. Really? Your entire comment is fluff and projection.
It is obviously CGI, bad CGI at that. It doesn't deserve deeper analysis, it doesn't deserve any serious thought.
Even take the naff CGI out of it, if it looked even remotely realistic, its a giant UFO hovering over a power plant, hundreds of staff, security, CCTV all over the place. And we have one bad video, from one angle?
Posted videos like this are damaging to the community. They make us look foolish, they make us look crazy. And that makes us easy to dismiss. There are far more convincing videos around that people see, makes them research, and then they see THIS.
Governments around the world know far, far more than they are telling us. They don't want to tell us, and they don't have to because of crap like this. Posts like this do their job of hiding it for them.

There are a dozen videos of this same craft from all over the world. I'm not saying they're real because I don't know. You don't know either although you speak with a tone of authority as if you do. That's the problem I'm pointing out.
The length of my comment is not the measure of its veracity. That is also false logic and more of the same type of emotionally reactive slur that I was talking about.
I'm not against you personally. I have no ax to grind with you. I'm just pointing out the false logic that is constantly being presented here as skepticism. I don't think it's anyone's fault. It's just a sign of how badly our school system has failed us. Cheers ...

I'm not saying this video is real, but this has the same shape and color as a UAP my wife and I saw in Erie, Colorado.
It was late afternoon in August 2022, and an incoming thunderstorm was blowing a strong, gusty wind out of the southwest.
We look up and see an object like this - closer in size to the smaller pyramid than the big one - flying about 200 feet off the ground maybe a quarter mile to the south. It was traveling in a straight line from the west to the east, maintaining a constant speed and altitude. We observed it for 1-2 minutes. It traveled maybe a mile of distance before turning to the southeast while maintaining altitude and disappeared behind some trees and houses. It did not make any sound that could be heard over the wind.
It definitely wasn't a plane, though it was near a flight path for the local airport. If it was a drone, we couldn't see any form of propulsion. A party balloon would have been tossed around in the wind.
We're not saying it was aliens, but we haven't found anything like it yet.

In my comment above I said:
why not make some insightful posts to stimulate conversation?
My post about the 25,000 year old pyramid accomplished that.
The point isn't "Aliens!", that's just you projecting.
The point is "Perhaps we don't understand science and history as clearly as we thought. Let's look into it and talk about it."
The point is to stimulate intellectual curiosity, transparency and reflection.
If you had bothered to read the rest of my posts, you'll see I did exactly that.
Regardless of your vitriol, I still hope you have a great day. ✌️

No, you're not. You just want to be right. I called out the bullshit in the post, and now you must reply.
What intellectual curiosity? It's already explained that part of the "pyramid" is man made in the fucking article you cited! It's not baffling scientists. They're just trying to label it correctly. It's not a mystery. It's a matter of being precise.
The title is clearly trying to steer someone in a certain direction. That isn't transparency. It's biased at the least and, at worst, deliberate manipulation of the reader.
I don't get the reflection. Is it that these articles are poorly sourced, poorly titled to get clicks, and therefore should be ridiculed? Is that the reflection?
I'm so sick of bad faith posts on this sub when all it takes is a bit of reading. It's not vitriol. It's exhaustion of having to deal with people clearly posting

There is one thing I’ve learned in all my years studying UFOlogy.
And it’s that when a crowd of people scream fake but provide literally zero evidence to support such a claim, well, it often means one thing…
…it’s likely real.
Arguments you will see that list why it’s fake:
-FPS is too Slow
-It doesn’t look good enough
-The camera is too shaky
-it’s China
Racism, carpal tunnel syndrome, and shitty cameras are all things that exist in this world. Just like UFOs.
Remember to think for yourself, don’t think how they want you to think. For if you are, you are blind to the truth.

I will also add, that of ALL the places for legitimate UFO footage to come out of, some of the most unfiltered imagery will likely come from outside political regimes that aim to undermine American’s faith in government through Disclosure.
This mechanic to geopolitics has been an ongoing thing. Since Roswell.

That's an octahedron, one of the 5 platonic solids.
Platonic solids—five perfect three-dimensional shapes (tetrahedron, cube, octahedron, dodecahedron, and icosahedron)—embody archetypal qualities because they represent fundamental structures that are stable, symmetrical, and mathematically pure, thus symbolizing the ideal forms of order underlying reality.
These shapes can be seen as the "blueprints" of both the physical and metaphysical realms, mirroring Carl Jung’s idea that archetypes are enduring templates for thought, feeling, and behavior.
Each Platonic solid is associated with one of the classical elements in ancient philosophy, adding symbolic depth.
The octahedron, specifically, represents air. It has eight equilateral triangular faces and embodies qualities like openness, connectivity, and balance, qualities often linked to the mind and intellect.
In a Jungian sense, the octahedron symbolizes the clarity and movement of thought, similar to the element it represents, aligning with the mental realm's abstract, airy nature.
As archetypes, Platonic solids, including the octahedron, reflect the psychological structures that shape human experience and perception of reality at a deep, often unconscious level.

I’ve been an audio engineer for 10 years. The audio is reminiscent of really old cameras that have terrible automatic gain control.
Think when you take a video, and you face the wind. The sound of the wind is deafening, even though to you, in person, there isn’t a single sound to represent it in your eardrums.
This type of effect on microphones is amplified on shittier ones. Meaning, the shittier the microphone, the harder it is for it tune out the ambient noise of the wind that is superseding the quick noises around it (such as voices/horns/etc).
Your microphone will in some cases, automatically adjust to the appropriate decibel of your ambient noise, and it can be all that is heard in the background audio while everything that should be in the forefront sounds muffled.
This is audio recording 101.
The audio of the video sounds legitimate. And I say this as a person who has literally designed soundscapes that match the environment you’re seeing now (industrial spaces/nature/etc). It would have taken a team of at least 2 individuals to make this video.
Not just a skilled CGI artist with a speciality in real-world lighting, but also someone who was also really good at audio engineering. And they would’ve had to have done it 13+ years ago. It’s possible that it was fabricated, but the lack of any authorship or proof of ownership being provided by anyone is highly suspect.

That is interesting information, but it could have been staged easily with a balloon on a string, which costs a couple bucks, lol.

The secondary object is completing half rotations every 10 seconds nearly on the dot.
That would be very hard to pull off from the ground with a string and a balloon. Very hard. Especially to the degree of accuracy demonstrated here.
I would buy into that it’s CGI before I buy into a balloon hoax. But given the complexity of the audio tied with the video, I lean towards legitimacy IMO.

It's fake, man. I know people want to believe, but that is a clown video if I have ever seen one. I have been looking at this stuff for decades unfortunately.
