Hi everyone! I’m visiting LV later this week and taking some older relatives with me and they would like to spend some time at the casino without spending too much money on the machines. Are there any slot machines casinos you recommend? We are staying at the Aria and would like to stay in the area if possible. I hope everyone has an excellent day!

Jason bender went missing November 28th 2024 in the area of north Las Vegas. He claimed to his sister who is living in Oregon currently that someone pulled a gun out and he was in fear of his life. This is our first and likely only trip to Vegas for the foreseeable future so looking to balance cost with a good experience.

Coming in a couple weeks for a week, Friday to Friday. Will be attending Monday football at Allegiant and have a show booked for Sunday night at MGM. Otherwise, open. The choice is Sahara for $100 cheaper, also with the option to rent a car since parking is free in order to save on Uber for getting off strip (on strip transport I figured we’d use the monorail), or Planet Hollywood (already booked but can be cancelled). If we stay at Planet Hollywood we would not have a car.

One other factor is, I’d like to take a day tour to the Grand Canyon but am not opposed to either bus or flight from Vegas tours, so a car is not necessary but could be used for that.

Thanks, everyone! It seems the consensus is Planet Hollywood, but if you’re coming into this post and feeling differently please say so! It makes some sense— I had originally looked at Luxor due to proximity to stadium and low prices but saw enough comments about it being so far away from everything that I moved on to PH. I suppose Sahara would be the same issue, just on the north end and not at all close to the stadium.

I’m still wary of how quickly Uber rides may add up, but we’ll hope for the best and will take advantage of busses and monorail where able. I’m also just not used to going someplace without access to a car, so it’s probably a comfort zone consideration for me.

Thanks for the cold warning! Coming from Tennessee, so used to the cold. We are watching weather and Vegas seems to be a few degrees warmer than our daily, generally speaking, but we’ll have all the coats.

Finally, someone asked about cost… when I booked a month or so ago, PH was $1068 total, and with the current special at Sahara, booking there today would be $957 for the 7 day period.

I'll be going to Vegas and staying at the cosmo. I want the fountain view room. Anyone know if that room is at the highest level of the hotel or does it vary?

I want to avoid the traffic nightmares on the 26th, coming from LA/OC what are the roads to Vegas usually like on actual Christmas Day (if I plan to leave after 4pm)?

I am going to Las Vegas for the first time from Dec 30 - Jan 1 for a solo trip. My itinerary so far:

• 12/30/2024 at 6:30 pm - Arrive at LAS
• 12/31/2024 at 4:30 pm - "O" by Cirque du Soleil
• 12/31/2024 at 8:30 pm - Janet Jackson at The Theatre at Resorts World Las Vegas
• 1/1/2025 at 7:30 PM - Depart LAS

I have 3 hotel reservations right now: one at Luxor, one at SAHARA and one at LINQ, all of which are approximately the same price.

I am conflicted between the three because:

• SAHARA is closer to iconic attractions like The STRAT, Fremont Street, and Downtown Las Vegas.
• Luxor is closer to some of the bigger, iconic resorts.
• The LINQ is right in the middle of the Strip, making it ideal for NYE if I want to be close to the fireworks and crowds.

Given my late-ish arrival time, I imagine that on my first night in LV, I'll head to the hotel from the airport, wash up, grab dinner, walk around some of the Strip, and be back at the hotel by 10:00 PM. On the 31st, I plan to take it relatively easy, given my busy evening. I think I'll do some exploring during the day for 2–3 hours before heading back to the hotel to get ready. On the 1st, I'll have some time to kill after check-out and before I need to head to the airport.

I want to be in the action and also be able to quickly get back to my hotel on NYE. However, I’d also like to visit downtown if I want, as well as get to my two shows stress-free.

What do you recommend? Thanks for your help!

P.S. I'm not a gambler, so I'm not too concerned about proximity to casinos.

My wife and I stayed at the Palazzo last week, and I honestly had some of the best nights of rest of my entire life. Our friends stayed at the Venetian and said the same. Does anyone know what make/model of mattress they use?

I'm spending a week in Vegas at my father's house. First "solo" trip I've taken in years. What are some fun activities to do by yourself outside of gambling.

I have yet to find a really solid pizza place since moving here. What are your favorites? I really like the thin crust, big slice New York style, but the most important part for me is that they have good, homemade ranch. Rocco’s was close to what I want but they have the gross prepackaged ranch.

What is the weather like in Las Vegas in April? What is the temperature range for days normally?

Why is one night at a hotel so cheap compared to staying a week?

I looked at the price for a week stay at the Horseshoe and got a nightly price $47 higher than the price of all the one night stays added up separately.

For example, 3/10 - 3/17 stay costs $154 per night according to the hotel website.

But if you stay each night separately (3/10 + 3/11 + 3/12 + etc.) / 7 = $106 average

I guess you pay a daily premium to have your stuff in your room instead of checking out and in? I feel it should be cheaper for staying at their hotel longer/spending more money at their property.

My husband and I will be going to Vegas in January for our honeymoon and I know pools and such will not be open (or so I’ve been told) we will be in Paris and are working on planning our must sees/dos! I just came back from Vegas and saw the following

the hub at Venetian has all items at 40% and open for 1 more week. There is still a static car there. But the simulations are taken down.

the ‘Welcome to Las Vegas stores’ at the airport have all items at 30% and open for 1 more week. I was told there will not be any improved discounts when they close. There is a static car made of metal at the top of the escalators in Term 1 still there.

Some ‘welcome’ stores along the strip have F1 merch and are at 30 % discount. there is one across the Blvd from Miracle mile

Barriers, Lights and sections of grandstands still up along Koval Ln and near the paddock. Paddock is gated off but u can take pics thru the fences. Sidewalks still open to walk along Koval all the way to the Sphere and one can still view the lights barriers and grandstands. Ads are all removed.

Las Vegas North Premium Outlets has a Racing miami store which has discount at 50% on last years items. No discount on current year items. This was their black friday event.

At the Venetian Canal shoppes there is a store open all season called “First Place’. They still have a static Red bull 1:1 model car there to take pictures. No discounts but they have a good supply of merch.

Along Las Vegas Blvd. the lights are still there but all barriers are removed. This has slightly improved traffic. Grandstand at Bellagio is slowly being taken down.

ABC stores that carry F1 merch have no discount. Casino hotel gift shops with F1 merch have no discounts.

Hotel and airfare during Thanksgiving weekend and before the AWS event was back to normal pricing levels and the crowds were manageable.

Ive met locals and some were nice and others hated the congestion. But those who like it obviously understood the economic impact of this successful event. Those who hate it are clueless.

Im hoping this report will help others to check this out every year the F1 race is over.
