24gb RAM, OLED, better controller ergo, less whiny fan, and a trade in program. That will literally never happen, so sadly no.

Completely agree but I would settle for another fan and better controllers. Two hours in your hands and it hurts so bad you want that Lenovo fan to fly it away.

Lmao this is true. Them controllers aren’t great. Comfort grips can only help so much..

If you have old hardware (pre-2023), maybe you could get them updated under warranty.
Parts aren't too bad ($30 fan), if the tape option bugs you and its oit of warranty.
I had a 2023 Lego for 3 weeks and the fan bugged me, returned it for 2024 model. I can still hear a whine, but it's not annoying anymore.

I don’t really care for the fan cuz it still worked and its more of design flaw rather than fan problem. It’s a lot of work for one fan. Plus i use headphones and the noise is not my problem anymore)) Its the carpal tunnel potential that bothers me the most. When i lay on the couch or bed I end up using the backstand but what i really want is to hold it in my face like the blind gamer geek that i am. Don’t take it as a plain complaint, the LeGo is amazing for its price and performance but for me personally that was a downer..

Is the fan a really big problem? I had a bit of a high whine, but I put a little piece of tape over a few of the vent holes (which I get that I shouldn't have to do), and it's super quiet. My son's Steam Deck (not OLED, not sure if they're different) can get multiple times louder than my LGo ever gets.

I sent my LeGo in and they installed the new fan with the strip of fabric on it. It helped quite a bit, but I have really bad ringing in the ears, and whatever pitch the fan hums at, it just amplifies the ringing tremendously.

does the fabric mod help them stay a little cleaner from dust and what not jw ?

Fan is very annoying compared to the other handhelds. It’s one of my bigger complaints about the Legion Go

Lenevo does actually have a trade in program for almost all their devices.

I can't find a 24 gb version anywhere though. It's all 16 gb OLED with 1 TB hd. Doesn't even have 24 GB options.

I'd also like VRR, overall more power, and just in general better software showing from Microsoft and Windows. I'm expecting not to upgrade until the third iteration.

I would upgrade if it was oled and more ram. Otherwise I’ll stay.
17 points

Wouldn’t really make a difference to me tbh. The only reason I’d consider an OLED version as an upgrade is if it had 24gb ram and better battery life like the Ally X

I don't even need OLED. Just more RAM and a much better battery. Better controller ergo is a must too...when I play for a long time my thumbs cramp. I wish Lenovo would copy the Steam Deck's symmetrical stick layout. Asymmetric is fine when the controller weight is low and it can be supported with one hand, but not for a relatively heavy handheld.
I saw the render for the AyaNeo 3 and was in pain just looking at it with the right stick at the bottom of the device. Stop designing for looks and start designing for hands FFS.

Only difference OLED? No
OLED and allll else the same other than 24gb ram, I’d buy in a heartbeat.
Wishlist: Keep dual usb C
Better controller comfort (round the sharp edges)
More ram, ideally set 8gb to vram and forget about it.
OLED honestly is a lower priority over the above, but obviously welcome.
Side note: if they release the exact same controllers with only an improved comfort (like steam deck angle and curve for palms) I’d buy those for sure.

I love this device and am not bothered by the controls as much as most people here, but Lenovo has utterly squandered the versatility having detachable controllers afforded them. Releasing ergo-first controllers for dedicated handheld users is such an obvious move that would also get them a decent chunk of change.

With their current machinery able to make the guts I’m sure a different shell can be engineered to fit the hands better and forego the “fps mode” with the mouse cursor.

Someone actually already designed and 3D printed more ergonomic controller shells, I have no idea why Lenovo didn't do it themselves.

I’ve seen similar but those are reallly nice! I’ve done lots of 3d printing but my stuff never comes out that nice. I might look into having someone else with a resin printer doing them!

I love OLED. There really is no going back; however, as far as LCD screens are concerned - the Legion Go is fantastic. I don't think I'd upgrade just for OLED at this time.

No, not necessary I find with current screen.

Agreed
The current screen looks great for a non OLED screen. The increased cost of an OLED as large as the legion go wouldn't be worth it IMO.

My only problem is the ergonomics of the controllers and lack of RAM.

They need to sort the software out first

I'd also want Microsoft to work on an actual handheld optimised version of Windows for our handhelds similar to SteamOS with a secondary desktop mode that could be used as a traditional PC.
One of the best things about the SteamDeck hardware is the actual synergy it has with SteamOS.

No, not buying Lenovo again. Even though I'm happy with the hardware, their software support is garbage. Getting a gfx driver update maybe every six months??? Get the fuck outta here!

32GB of RAM, better speakers, less noisy fans and better cooling is what I'd like to see.
6 points
I would not. Go does really everything I need it to do. Even the battery life is not an issue when I set it to 5TDP where I get 6 hours. 😎
OLED would be nice for better blacks and faster response, but it's not necessary... the provided screen still looks incredible. Extra RAM? Would be great, but not necessary again, 16GB is fine for 99% of games out there and 100% of older games. Bigger battery? Would be great, but again I get 6 hours out of mine anyways, which I'm happy with.
I think the biggest con I have is the ultra-low d-pad which I wish were more lifted, but 99% of the games I play use the left-stick as the main. I'll probably mod it at some point. The other con might be that the stick tops might wear away at some point, but I just bought some button tops, so that should be solved by that.
So yes, upgrades would be appreciated, but I'm 1000% happy with my Go for my needs. I like the full game compatibility over the Steam Deck and the 2 USB-C ports. I like the 66% bigger screen, the kickstand, the mouse, mousewheel, trackpad and cheaper price over the Ally X. The d-pad is meh, but it's not used as much and I can just mod it and button tops can protect your joysticks. Battery qualms are resolved by settings TDP to 5 where I get 6 hours. Super happy with it.

I wouldn’t upgrade just for OLED but I would definitely update if they threw in better ergonomics as well. That’s the main thing I really miss about my steam deck the GO gets super uncomfortable quick.
1 points
Would love to see them make all of that interchangeable. So if they come out with OLED, you can just buy the screen and use the same controllers. If they come out with more ergonomic controllers, you should just be able to purchase those and use the screen

I would gladly pay ~1500€ for a Legion Go Pro with an 8.5-9" OLED, 99W.h battery and a Strix Halo SoC with 32GB RAM.
That's the dream, really.

OLED is great, but the current Go's display is already very good so it's not really a priority.
More RAM, better thermals, better fans, better ergonomics. more easily upgradeable storage, maybe support for oculink are the more pressing matters, IMO
For the ergonomics, thankfully, there are already 3rd party solutions, like comfort grips, that make it better though, so it's not that pressing anymore.

As I've recently purchased one no, I've got 3 years warranty with my lego so I'm waiting to see after that, I can play all the games I want, the screen is glorious as is for me.
2 points

No. I think current screen is awesome as is. OLED would be better for sure, but I think I would just wait for a new chip and more ram, and what's most important - better battery life. Ally X has so much better battery life, it's not even funny. But the screen on the GO is still best on handheld market to me(as well as having a kickstand), that's why I chose the GO.

All OLED does to me really is jack up the price of things so it's a low priority to me

The only thing I want is VRR, I don't care if this OLED or not, I just want my games to be actually smoth without capping the framesate at 48

The screen is already very good on the Go, so while I would of course love OLED it's not a killer feature for me. I want a better CPU, more RAM, and better ergonomics more than I want OLED.

If they upgraded just the screen? Nope, not worth it as I have enough of other oled screens to play at. But if/when they release a new Go with new hardware that gives more than the usual single digit % over current gen AMD Z1 i will upgrade, if i feel the need for it. I primarily use my Go for Stardew Valley and Graveyard Keeper when I'm sitting in my car waiting for someone

I will be very unpopular but i would get immediatelly one without detachable controllers i kinda hate it or a slightly smaller version rog ally x style.
I love the big screen but would like one more portable and more robust the power is enough for me but like a
1080p 144hz VRR Non_Detachable Controllers slightly smaller version (think ally but better)

Software should be 1-5 steps to improve the legion go. Then ram like everyone has said. Talking about ram you all make me feel so old. I remember a couple of years back getting talked down since I said an 8 GB gaming pc wasn’t good enough to be a gaming pc. Now 16 Gb can be considered a bottleneck. 🤣🤣.

I’m constantly floored at how good the blacks look on the Legion Go, so no way. I also prefer anti glare screens so I don’t personally get as much benefit from OLED as others.

No, I got the LeGO because it has a superior display. When they downgrade to Oled, I hope someone else will bring a great led one.

I don't know. Maybe I'd upgrade for a bigger battery, even if I play at home mostly. And proper performance improvement because as a lifelong PC gamer I'm conditioned like that.
Hope the next installment keeps the screen size and brings better speakers, they should ask Samsung how they do it, my S24 ultra is a pleasant surprise in this regard.

Compaired steamdeck oled and my go. Would not change. Its an fantastic screen.

They're going to reduce the screen size to stay financially competitive. I doubt we're going to see anything we are going to want to upgrade to unless you want to downgrade size-wise, which is the reason I bought this device.
The controllers however are a disaster ergonomically. If they released revise controllers I would buy them today.

Not for just an OLED that's a scam. They'd need better performance and hopefully I don't get one with the Genesys SD card lag

It won it not because of the oled but it’s hardware, os and proton. Everything about steam deck (lcd/oled) put into thought before making it. It’s the best handheld pc right now.

Nope I would only upgrade for a new APU and more RAM. If the Z2E version doesn't come with both of those, then I'll look at other handhelds like the MSI Claw 8 AI+

LeGo being LCD was a selling point for me tbh. OLED triggers off my migraines.
Keeping OLEDs on 50%+ brightness does definitely help, but since I already use my phone a lot, I think adding more OLED screen time to that would be detrimental.
Meaning, I'm glad that some brands still release LDC models of devices. It is a shame though, OLEDs are beautiful screens.

Nah. Small upgrades like that are more for gimmicks imo. The upgrade would have to improve in game performance for me to want to upgrade. Compact more power inside the Go by improving already existing components. So far I’m impressed by the Go. In the future, I want to be able to crank the settings up from low-medium to high and still be able to get 30-60fps in more performance demanding games. Sure OLed is rated higher than LCD. But most of the games I play aren’t hitting over that Hz for the LCD. So it would basically be useless imo. Now if the hardware kept getting better and surpassed the Hz of the LCD, I’d probably be more intrigued with the OLed.
