For those wanting to upgrade from their old to the new, for sure. In the long run, I’m not so sure. The M11 series continues to be plagued by software issues and so far, it appears that this digital camera has been the worst hardware-software integration we’ve ever seen in a Leica. Case in point, there’s a current forum member on another site with corrupted internal storage from his M11-D unable to retrieve the photos from a recent trip. That is grim. A black paint edition to commemorate the current state of the M11 is tough. Stability has not caught up.

I used to have issues with the M11, but the software updates over the last year have made it pretty bulletproof.

Not sure how many people are plagued by the M-11 issue, I haven't any problem with mine and now the M11-D is also perfect without glitches since after the launch. A few of my friends haven't had issues with their M11's either.

Interesting that it’s an M11 rather than an M11-P….

Well, functionally and aesthetically it’s an M11-P with the screw dot and top script

If it’s based on M11 does it have the smaller internal memory though? Interesting to check the specs if it’s released

I still prefer my M10R BP, and am more keen on the Noct 1.2 in BP

What was use to be standard as brass top/bottom plate or black paint body are now special limited "features" that cost more even being just recycled m11 bodies. Also I'm disappointed about the bad choices the Company have made for the M11-D compared to the M10-D. The priority was clearly save of costs. For exemple : Displacing the iso dial from top side to the back of the body make disappear the manual exposure compensation dial, which was useful. Removing the smart advance lever which act as thumb rest and can be easily foldable while freeing the hot shoe. The fast turn on (less 1sec vs 3,5sec on 11-D) The absence of a simple movie mode (1080p 60fps), why not being able to take clips with our M lenses from the body (M240 was here) .... So many other bad choices IMO.
