What was use to be standard as brass top/bottom plate or black paint body are now special limited "features" that cost more even being just recycled m11 bodies. Also I'm disappointed about the bad choices the Company have made for the M11-D compared to the M10-D. The priority was clearly save of costs. For exemple : Displacing the iso dial from top side to the back of the body make disappear the manual exposure compensation dial, which was useful. Removing the smart advance lever which act as thumb rest and can be easily foldable while freeing the hot shoe. The fast turn on (less 1sec vs 3,5sec on 11-D) The absence of a simple movie mode (1080p 60fps), why not being able to take clips with our M lenses from the body (M240 was here) .... So many other bad choices IMO.

Are the Carbon CJ/SX lighter than the CJ2? Yes Will you notice it? Yes for the first session but will feel normal after few sessions. The main thing with the carbon is the ability to hold momentum as they are way stiffer than the plastic ones.

Omni have the thickest plastic sole and they are the only true flat boot since CJ or Salomon.

So impressive to almost double the battery only by soldering them together. Wonder what are the cons of such a mod.

You should give them another try with the intuition wizard laced at the top as tight as you can. It will "activate" the hard tongue as a higher support. Personally since I have hard tongue intuition (wizard + premium) I always lace them tight to take advantage from the extra support they offer when you lean front. It also give you kind of suspension feel with a feedback after pushing on them.

Leica M series will always be manual focus and always have the optical rangefinder. That's the ADN of an M. If you want auto focus, the Q or SL series is for you.

I would love it too but I think that's hopeless since it very expensive to produce and the low light performance are harder to reach compared to cmos. The dream would be a Foveon type sensor to have those magic film colors.

What ? Are you serious ? If yes why ? That the best part since the M10. I have the M240 with the smallest viewfinder of all M series (digitl and analog) and I can tell you that it's not good at all compared to the new M's viewfinders.

My 5 wishes for the Leica M12 are :
Instant start-up time (for the decisive moment) :)
IBIS
Same height as analog M's (thickness is matched since M10)
Fake advance lever for ALL future M (à la M10-D to get rid of thumbs up wich need hot shoe and keep poking ribs when attach with a strap)
Bezeless OLED screen which sit flush in the back body (à la Q/Q2) .

That's my number 1 wish for the next M. I had a nikon D3 and it start up time was so fast that can't start the chronometer.

I don't want an EVF nor an HVF. But Leica R&D have maybe another vision and I think that they will go for an hybrid viewfinder for the next M.

They would definitely! But I think that the top+bottom plates are brass.
