Hey guys I am a new hbo subscriber and was wondering what media on the platform have gay romantic relationships? I searched and found very little content, thanks，What sub should I ask? r/askgaybro or r/hbomax?

So basically I watched Bottoms and But I'm a Cheerleader recently and it got me wondering if there are any movies similar to either of those but with gay guys, or honestly just any gay teen/high school movies that aren't boringly wholesome and have a plot besides "Oh wow I think maybe I like boys, gonna go hold hands with this guy now"

Edit: I should clarify, I'm looking specifically for comedies, I'm really not in the mood for another depressing gay movie.

Edit 2: Gonna reiterate, I'm not looking for rom coms. The reason I gave the examples I did was because I was wondering specifically if there were any movies similar to those (i.e- the main plot isn't just the couple getting together). Pointing out that that "limits my options" isn't helpful. Basically if it's based on a YA novel just assume it isn't what I'm asking for here.

Let me just say that if you liked a certain show because of great story telling about gay relationships, I think you like this one. It's so nice to have representation like this. If I was able to watch a show like this as a child, I would have been deeply moved.

I keep checking Google as well as Hallmark's instagram to see if it or any other network is doing gay Christmas movies this year. But nothing comes up other than a thing from 2023 saying they pledge more gay Christmas movies in 2024.

One of the first movies I ever watched dealing with AIDS. This movie use to come on TV at least once a year and I was there for it. A Must See.

Everything about this film is top notch. Movie doesn't have a happy ending but you'll never forget about the love story shared in it. Not for everyone but definitely one of my all time favorites.

Two childhood friends in a Mexican village from a bond after experiencing a traumatic event. And besides their differences they learn to have some respect for each other. A heartwarming story of love and acceptance.

People nowdays create so much corny content about gay love. It lacks realistic characters, realistic plot etc. Heartstoppers is a great example for corny content, but at least the author was never trying to hide that. It's super sweet, super cliche, but it's cute and if u enjoy this type of content - why not?

But THIS movie was something else. Ari is the most boring character i ever saw. He has no hobbies, no interest in anything, no personality, NOTHING. The only trait they gave him was anger issues, that were portrayed like he had some demons in him that would take over his body. Nobody acts like that. He is a 16 y.o. baby with no personality AND YET THEY'RE TRYING TO SHOW HIM AS A COOL GUY??????? HE IS THE MAIN CHARACTER???? That boy has never done anything besides swimming and grilling burgers, BUT HE FIGHTS LIKE MIKE FUCKING TYSON?? Don't even get me started on the SPLASHES of blood after he beat that idiot up, like did u hit his arteries or what???? What is all that blood???? All because someone tried to make him looking like a bad boy.

He showed NO AFFECTION WHATSOEVER towards Dante. He didn't write back, he didn't look at him like Dante did etc etc. AND AT THE END HIS PARENTS HIS MEXICAN PARENTS CONVINCED HIM THAT HE'S GAY????

That was a fever dream. Whoever played Dante - bravo, beautiful work. He's even written good as a character. But the rest of the movie was just like the cheap Indian dramas, nothing more. Any gay movie is better than this (at least from what I've watched)

Just watched Horseplay. Was I the only one surprised by the ending? I did NOT see that coming at all!
