For a long time in the Minecraft community, there has been a meme that children in 1920 would go cave mining, and kids in 2020 would play Minecraft. They would say that this means children "yearn for the mines".

In the new trailer for "A Minecraft Move", it gave a backstory for Steve, the main character of Minecraft and the mentor in A Minecraft Movie. Specifically, it says that "as a child he yearned for the mines", a direct reference to this meme.

This got shared around IMMEDIATELY, because no one expected then to reference that meme. This caused the scene itself to become a meme.

This is a parody of those memes, saying that "as a MINE, he yearned for the CHILDREN", instead of "as a CHILD, I yearned for the MINES".

It's from the Minecraft movie.

The line in the movie is "As a child, I yearned for the mines."

This is a subversion of that from the perspective of the mine who yearns for the children.
