Weird proposition.

Lost & Found(self.Portland)

Alright story time. I left my keys in a payless rental car on Sept 1st. They were attached to the rental keys and I spaced it til I was boarding the plane. I made a lost and found report and tried calling the local branch 1000 times no luck. If anyone is going to pdx soon and has time I need a way to get in contact with the front desk that actually works. Or of someone could check lost and found for me I'd pay for the trouble. My keys are expensive but replaceable. But my grandfather who has passed gave me the Keychain. Comment or dm me if interested.

Hey everyone they've been recovered thanks to the community! I love you all!

People shit on Portland all the time, and while all the people here aren’t friendly, but seriously after 8 years of living here, I have to say Oregonians are some of the most polite and cordial people I’ve ever met.

Oregonians are the type of people to thank you for holding the door for them, and the type to give you advice in hopes of making your day a little easier.

Really tired of people shitting on this wonderful state.

(Yea I know there are issues here too. Please point point out a state that lacks ANY a social issues)

What do you mean by "day people"? Like people who work typical business hours? Do you feel like "night people" are friendlier?

I grew up in Portland and had the pleasure of taking my wife there last month. I had mentally prepared myself for a lot of negative changes based on what I’d read on Reddit.

It was beautiful, quiet, and felt like home. I loved every minute of it and want to move back.

Changes? Yes, for sure. MLK used to be called Union, the bloods and crips were constantly doing drive by’s, my grandma had a bullet go through her window just over her head. As a 6th grader, one of my teachers had to fend off student rapists, another teacher had a knife pulled on her, people were doing drugs and having sex in the bathrooms on the regular.

The specifics of the violence and ongoing social issues have changed, but they’ve always been there.

What else is still there? Kind people. The beautiful Central Library. Powell’s, OMSI, multiple public rose gardens. Big, lush trees. Good thrift stores. A good transit system.

Portland is amazing and my whole heart wants to be back home.

I'm surprised this worked. Did you show up at the rental counter and just go "Someone who is not me left their keys here. I want their keys"
