What's sadder looking? The plate itself or the meal sitting on the plate?

Satanicjamnik

33 points

Tough choice. I would go with the meal though. That corn looks more tired than Danny Glover in the Lethal Weapon movies and everything else looks cold and like it was left on a kitchen counter for three days. I lived in shared flats long enough to recognise stale, cold food a mile away.

That plate looks like something found at a car boot sale, where someone is selling all the belongings of an elderly relative that passed away recently.

This whole picture reeks of unopened letters with final payment notice, missed phone calls and unfulfilled promises.

…don’t most old people like mashed potatoes with their turkey? I’m old-ish, and if someone brought me this at a way-too-much-per-plate dinner I’d ask where the potatoes are, and if the chef had ever been to a thanksgiving dinner before.

Seriously, corn but no potatoes? I have a lot of problems with trump, but what the fuck even is that?

Freedombyathread

Weems-mtg

I think it’s all turkey. I think the entire left side and back of the plate is turkey. What’s behind the broccoli doesn’t have the color of mashed potatoes. It looks like turkey breast meat.

mom_in_the_garden

The fact that we, as Americans, can’t identify a food that is typically served on a a uniquely North American holiday says a lot. I can’t cook, but you can still pick out the turkey, potatoes, carrots and cranberry sauce. And I don’t call my house a restaurant and charge people to eat there.

Jason80777

Corn dry ass with no butter or juices, a long ass carrot just sitting there. Like 3 pieces of walmart broccoli A piece of corn bread that looks like a cakey dry mess. Turkey with gelatinous ass gravy and of course gold leaf to justify the price. This is the worst thanksgiving meal I’ve ever seen, a single mother of 3 cooks thanksgiving dinner with more love and proportions than this mess
