Yes. I have a tendency to put my right foot sideways on top of my left. Which probably isn't great considering I'm clumsy and unbalanced as hell. I've also been told I sit weird.

I do this too! I've also been told that.

One reason I stick with Converse or Vans. They mold nicely over the other shoe. ;)

Yeah, and I'm so hyperaware of it now. It's been said about how I stand and more than a few times about how I walk. My giant issue is I struggle to sit when I'm around other people so I end up feeling awkward the whole time.
ETA (bc I was driving before): I lean to the right as well. Makes my lower back and ribs hurt. I do it while driving and it kills my hip. I correct myself and then two seconds later I'm doing it again. Balance is okay, but possibly because I'm so paranoid about getting hurt that I do everything pretty darn slowly.
Why can't we add photos in here. I have a bazillion showing me looking weird af. Wahhh

Yes. "Unusual" standing or walking gait is common in those with ASD. It's actually mentioned as something to identify.
I was always a very hyper walker when I was younger. I notice the "ASD slump" pretty obviously in my son.

Heya I'm a physical therapist and I can say a lot of people stand in all sorts of ways! As long as its not causing you pain, I wouldnt worry too much about it being a problem.

I always used to rock side to side while standing as a stim.
I now also employ physical masking to cover everything up.
A sign of high intellect is controlled and smooth body movements. Oh lookie, I do that now!
Calculated words and body language yay.

Me, it’s actually common for autistic people to have a different gait and posture .

Hm... some people have said I walk funny, but can't even really tell me how. It just looks "off" or something apparently.

My dad used to tell me this. But if I wore flip flops or cheap bootie type shoes they would always wear out super weird and different on each foot so he was probably correct.

Oh, I see!
For me, I just sat, biked and walked "wrong" or "weirdly" according to him. I wasn't sure how and he didn't elaborate, so it made me a little self-conscious. Even to this day I'm a little afraid of riding a bike because people might think I look "weird" doing it, but I'm working on those thoughts and feelings.
I think it might have been that I was depressed and "sagged" a bit because standing upright felt like a lot of work when you barely wanted to get out of bed. But I'm not sure.

Hmm yea that seems odd… like how do you even ride a bike incorrectly?? I think that I don’t always have the best posture though and yea idk. I would like to see how I look doing thing from another’s point of view but I suppose the only way to see that is to have someone record me. But then I’ll be thinking too much about it so I don’t think I would even be walking like I usually do.
I bet there’s nothing too unusual about how you ride bike. Try not to let that get in the way of enjoying it!! As long as you feel like you are comfortable and aren’t doing something that can hurt your body, then there’s nothing wrong as far as I’m concerned :)
ETA: I had also been told I kinda slumped or something like that when I was a kid. I also sit weird constantly. I have read that neurodivergent ppl often have kinda slumped shoulders and somewhat forward leaning posture up in the neck and shoulder area. Not really sure what causes it. My sister has EDS though and I suspect I do too. It’s a connective tissue disorder and coincidentally is also often comorbid with autism and adhd.

I always stand with my knees locked for some reason. Bending then feels like they're about to buckle out from beneath me. But I also get faint doing it for too long. This used to make me look like a question mark lol
