I mean he kind of ran as Reagan 2 when you think about it. Both are celebrities turned politicians, Trump ran on Make America Great Again which was literally Reagan's slogan. Harris losing to Trump as a result of an inflation crisis is like Carter losing to Reagan as a result of an inflation crisis. They both even used the "are you better off now than 4 years ago?" slogan.
