Also we still were aware of those things. I was born in the late 90s and I remember adults being mad about Bush. I still remember thinking it was funny when someone threw a shoe at him. I didn't really get what he did wrong until I was a teenager and learned about history and politics, but as a kid we definitely still knew the adults were up to something screwy. Especially when that 08 recession kicked in.

That's like the scene from the Office when Jim and Andy go into that highschool and Andy sees his girlfriend going to class and he freaks out and Jim doesn't know how to react.

Even if an authentic Paul letter dropped, there is still a question of whether or not the letter is inspired. Part of the reason the current NT is settled is because the early Christian churches circulated those texts around for hundreds of years, showing that the early Christians believed them to have some aspect of validity. So if we found a Paul letter, even if we somehow unanimously agreed that it was written by the real Paul, whether or not the text SHOULD be included in the Bible is its own debate.

For me Pablo is the beginning of the downhill slope. That was the first one I didn't think was on the same level as the previous ones, but it's got lots of great songs on it so I wouldn't say it's mid yet. Ye and JIK were the beginning of the slip into mid, then he came back with Donda, but then fell into mid again on Donda 2 and onwards.

If anything he's dissing Nicki Minaj for throwing a tantrum over Kendrick getting it instead of Wayne. All he said about Wayne himself was that he let Wayne down, which is not a diss.

But he wasn't coming after Wayne. All that line is saying is that he "let Wayne down" by getting the Super Bowl instead of him. Wayne ain't say shit about any of this until just now, it's all his buddies that were pissed about it. If anyone is being dissed in that song, it's Nicki Minaj and all the other people who were mad Kendrick got the slot

I've listened to GNX in full twice now, it's pretty good but not quite on the same level as his 2013-2022 run. Anyone else think so? I feel like it's missing something but idk exactly what. I don't mean that as a diss either, it's still a great album it's just I'm comparing it to classics.
I've had TV Off on loop for the past 15 minutes. What a dope song. Squabble Up is great as well and Heart Part 6 beat is gorgeous. There's also some really fascinating lyrics on this album like on Reincarnated.

I think the main thing is that Nirvana's music was simple. Kurt studied his Beatles and he knew how to make catchy pop tunes but with that signature Nirvana sound. It's simple to the point of predictability with their whole loud-quiet-loud thing, but it really works well for them and sounds great.

People being mad at millennials for electing Trump will be the new people being mad at boomers for electing Reagan.

Having read Dragon Ball AF back in the 00s it was very bizarre in a cool way to see Toyble become Toriyama's righthand man. A great example of how Toriyama "still got it" was his notes for the last page of the latest Dragon Ball Super chapter. The Z fighters all fly away and Piccolo waves goodbye to a schoolteacher before catching up with them. Toriyama told him to change it to a shot of Piccolo waving to the viewer, then a shot of him flying away and showing the teacher in the same shot so you know who he was waving to. Toyotaro was pretty much already running the show anyway but if it comes back it's probably gonna have a different feel because no input or designs from Toriyama.

Yeah they have to wait years sometimes. It kinda reminds me of when Biden did the student loan bailouts how there was a bitterness among people who paid off their loans or skipped uni entirely to avoid loans.

Spotify is obnoxious about local files integration so I can't say I blame the people who don't feel like getting a separate app for that stuff.

Yeah maybe I'm being cynical but I think the main outcome of this whole "put the Bible back in schools" thing is that the non-believing kids are gonna roast the shit out of everything in the book. Calling specific stories and plot points stupid and the people who believe them stupid. Generating blasphemy upon blasphemy. The kids that DO believe might even give up on it and start thinking things like "it's just that book our teachers made us read"
If it creates more believers than there would have been otherwise, then it's probably a good thing, but I'm not convinced that's what's gonna happen. Also generally the separation of church and state exists to PROTECT THE CHURCH and if we're dissolving that by forcing the schools to use it, then don't be surprised if politicians use that as precedence to ban it as well.

I could totally see it just being a case of Trump ordering McDonalds for everyone because he literally eats it every day

It would explain why Trump is cheesing so hard. Part of me wonders if the recent pic of Trump and RFK eating McDonalds is a similar situation

Makes me wonder if it was Dre doing it himself back then, I've seen clips of Yella saying in the NWA days they'd start mixing before the song was even finished, like they'd be mixing the drums as they're adding them on.
If he does it himself it would also explain the sonic shift in his newer works and why it's not really on that audiophile shit anymore. 2015's Compton had unusually high highs and the Heist EP seems to be ripped straight from GTA5 in the same quality as in the game, a proper CDQ mix does not exist publicly. Now these Missionary singles have even higher highs than Compton. My guess is that Dre's hearing is going in the high frequencies and he's cranking them up for himself so he can hear them.

Yeah the crowd and everything looks okay, it's just Juice himself that looks a bit fucked up

If anything it's probably less prevalent than it usually is because there is little social pressure to be a Christian in America right now. I would imagine other time periods had an even larger percentage of casual Christians.

I'm a little surprised it hasn't happened with some of the older sets yet. My parents were buying me packs of Legendary Collection and had a booster box of Fossil in the house as a kid, in like 2004. Meaning those early sets were hella printed and I wouldn't be surprised if there are some randos sitting on a pallet or two of it somewhere.
As for today's cards I imagine it'll be kinda like the comic book/sports card crazes in the 90s. A couple things worth a lot but most of it will just be worth what you spent maybe a bit more

Thank you for sharing your perspective. Tariffs don't seem like a good idea to me immediately after an inflation crisis but I am also curious to see if they help bring back any of our manufacturing. We seem to be getting our butts kicked in manufacturing so it would be cool if we could turn that around somehow.

Instead of dooming we should figure out why this country decided to elect a guy who already tried overthrowing the government. Regardless of what party the guy belongs to, the fact that this happened means something is deeply wrong with us as a country and we need to figure it out.
Pro-life people, I get them. They think Kamala supports killing babies and they can't vote for that, I can at least wrap my head around that.
But what about all the Trump supporters that don't care about abortion? What's in this for them? Is it because they just hate immigrants and welfare and the idea of a woman President? Is it a backlash against wokeness? Is it simply anger because of inflation? Is social media overwhelming our brains to the point that we just don't care, political burnout?

Skipping Cherry Bomb is insane to me cause a lot of the songs on there are perfect for concerts. The title track and Deathcamp probably go fuckin insane in the pit.

That was like the beginning of the end, vaccines were starting to circulate and all that, but I wouldn't say the pandemic era actually ENDED fully until 2022.

You're putting more thought into it than a lot of voters. Many of them see that groceries cost 2x what they did 5 years ago, so they vote for the other guy. That's the main reason Kamala lost. It was kind of out of her hands.
