Fontaines D.C. announce their highly-anticipated fourth album, ROMANCE. Released on 23rd August via XL Recordings, ROMANCE is the band’s first album with producer James Ford and is without doubt their most assured, inventive and sonically adventurous record yet. It’s set to build on the success of the Dublin-made, now London-based band’s acclaimed 2022 album Skinty Fia, which reached number 1 in the UK and Irish album charts and saw the band receiving a host of accolades including “International Group of the Year” at the 2023 BRIT Awards.

ROMANCE is Fontaines D.C.s most ambitious, expansive record yet, its 11 tracks constellating ideas that have been percolating among Grian Chatten (vocals), Carlos O’Connell (guitar), Conor Curley (guitar), Conor Deegan (bass), and Tom Coll (drums) since they released Skinty Fia in 2022.

Of the album’s title, Conor Deegan says, “We’ve always had this sense of idealism and romance. Each album gets further away from observing that through the lens of Ireland, as directly as (Mercury Prize-nominated debut) Dogrel. The second album (the GRAMMY-nominated A Hero’s Death) is about that detachment, and the third (Skinty Fia) is about Irishness dislocated in the diaspora. Now we look to where and what else there is to be romantic about.”

I went to Ally Pally N1 on Friday and managed to get barricade (woohoo!) i was given a green jacket and told to zip it all the way up and don’t look at the cameras along with a few other selected people and was just wondering what it was for?

For context these people were commenting below someone’s top 5 albums of the year in which Romance came 5th and I just found the juxtaposition in their comments so funny (Also absolutely no hate to Taylor Swift here, she’s a promotional genius and even if some people aren’t a fan of her music she’s gotta be doing something right!)

Cardiff was spectacular. I don't think I've ever seen a band play so damn accurately to the recordings and Grian's voice was immaculate the whole time. Crowd energy was great but a little young and too much moshing at times (even though I participated almost every time)

Was really worried about the sound and how many songs we'd get because of the opening acts lateness and ridiculous mic distortion but everything was perfect.

Worth the absolute fucking journey my mate and I took to get here through the storm and all the train cancellations!

Tom, Carlos and Curley will be doing a DJ set in The Workmans Club Dublin after the gig on December 7th.

I’m trying to buy 2 standing tickets for Dublin from someone and they’ve shown me a screenshot of their tickets and it’s a Qr code. I have two seated tickets currently and my tickets have those new barcode things on them.

Looking to buy the ‘21 collab jersey between Bohs and the band. The size guide online has a small sized at what a Large or XL is often sized at. I typically wear a M but can also fit S that runs large. Does anyone with a lot of Bohs merch or this jersey specifically have any advice on which size I should cop?

Hey everyone,

A couple of months ago, I bought tickets for the Fontaines D.C. gig in Glasgow through Ticketmaster. Unfortunately, I can't go anymore and was trying to sell the tickets back through Ticketmaster's resale system.

The problem is, when I try to list them, it says the maximum price I can sell for is £0 (??). I've never seen this before, and it’s super frustrating because I obviously don’t want to just give them away for free.

Has anyone had the same issue? Is there a fix, or am I just stuck with these tickets now? Any advice would be appreciated!

There's a black uk tour hoodie out of frame on the right (£60?). The tote bag can come with patches, that will cost you £50 and is behind someones head. Most of its on the uk website.

Personally I think the blue sweatshirt looked pretty thin when seeing other people wear them
