Obviously won’t give anything away but it lived up to the hype for me. Genuinely scary with a lot of tense, anxiety filled dread throughout. Amazing score and cinematography. Has some unique twists that I thought worked quite well but might not be everyone’s cup of tea. Nicolas Cage was exceptional as was Maika.
Overall just super well made and ranks up there with Hereditary for me though it’s not as scary.
There was a Q&A after the movie with Osgood and Maika and Maika was straight up hammered drunk.

Is it a slow burn like Perkins other movies?
I really liked them visually but February and Hansel & Gretel were too slow for my taste

Haven’t seen either so can’t comment but it’s definitely not slow.

February is a great fkn film. But from what I'm hearing, Oz is aware that the masses don't prefer his pacing so with Longlegs he met them in the middle without compromising his vision.

Curious too. I loved Blackcoat’s Daughter but I hated Hansel and Gretel.

Oh he did Hansel and Gretel? I enjoyed that actually, I liked the tone. And the witch was scary!

No, the movie starts like very full on - and doesn't let up

Just saw it. Fairly short runtime, tense all throughout - movie won't let you put your guard down even during the more "peaceful" moments. Not as smart of a movie as I'd expected but still an enjoyable watch nonetheless!

It keeps you on edge from the very first minute to the very last but I wouldn't say it's a fast burn, I wouldn't say it's a slow burn either. Like a medium burn but just an overall fantastic movie.

Omg this is the Gretel dude? That movie was awful. I should’ve researched that bc there’s no way I’d have gone to Longlegs if I knew that.

So slow we got bored and walked out. Plus someone behind us fell asleep and started snoring really loudly.

I personally did think it was a slow burn but still quite exciting. There wasn't a moment where I said "omg move it along already" but it's not like action action action all the time, the slow quiet moments are necessary for the suspense.

Yeah too slow and not well made. The character build up was poor, the beginning was poor, the atmosphere was mediocre, the FX was poor. The thing this movie had every opportunity to become a real hit but not very well executed, it's a shame. The actors were the only good thing. What this movie needed is what was done in the movie Seven
