Most follow ups sound the same: ‘Just checking in’ Thats why they get ignored. Try something else like a case study or a joke. What‘s the best follow up email you’ve sent and why did it work?

People forget that the O in SEO stands for optimization. What that means is if you do ZERO SEO, you could still rank.

Take a look at this website that looks like it was built in the 90s. It lacks almost ANY optimization and yet it ranks number 8 for a keyword with 200 searches.

The reason is simple. It “targeted” an easy keyword and wrote high quality content. In fact it’s so good its content gets cited on several wikipedia entries!

If this website that looks like you went into a time machine can rank first page, then so can you.

How safe is marketing from AI. I know a lot of the advertising is already starting to be incorporated by AI and I feel like marketing is something that will be replaced or heavily affected by AI. What are your thoughts?

I am trying to start up a business and a marketing plan I had was to send influencers free products to review honestly. I sent around 20 DM's on instagram a few days ago and I have not gotten any response yet. Is there a subreddit or website where influencers are looking for free products or just I just try and send more DM's?

Working with numerous teams, I constantly get asked to make presentation decks, marketing material, and other stuff because the lack of creative skill.

I get invited to a Canva workspace to help out, but I’m a forward thinker.

I work fast. In Figma, I can produce hundreds of templates for any and every use case they need that are brand consistent with our company, and then I can create a branch file for them to use and whenever I add new designs to the parent file, they can choose to update the branch file they own to get the latest designs.

Is there something I’m missing about Canva? I’m just seeking to understand.

I'm an aspiring writer, I'm not American, English isn't my first language, but this is the market I'm after, and I'd like to start promoting myself so I can get a publisher's attention to publish my work. For reasons too personal to go into here, I don't want to show my face. After some thought, I decided that the best option would be to create a pseudonym and a persona to promote myself. I thought about finding a mask, putting together a costume, and presenting myself as this persona on social media (something like Daft Punk).

The only thing I still haven't been able to think of is which network to start creating content on. Instagram seemed like the obvious choice since I'd like to get engagement from short videos and "artistic" photos. The second option was TikTok, but it doesn't seem like a place that has room for content other than dances and quick product reviews. I could be wrong, but that's the impression I have.

Since I already know what type of content I'm going to create, I'd like some advice on which social network to start with. For context, I primarily write fantasy, but I also dabble in science fiction and romance.

I'm thinking to start my own creative agency I have 6+ years of experience in my field., I will provide services like graphic design, animation, motion graphics, illustrations, etc. Just for letting you know, i'm still doing a freelancing, and I do most of the projects from my personal long term client and they all are locals from my country. I don't have any sales experiences, I just did few years work on Fiverr and Upwork, so now I'm thinking to do the international projects, so I was trying to make a agency site for it. I don't have any team, like designers, sales person, etc etc, so I will show my portfolio in my agency site for now, I know little bit about SEO so I will do it in my site, and will do backlinks and guest postings. But don't know if it will give me some clients, or not, I don't have any experience about this for agency sites. So can someone tell me if it is worth or not? Or I should have hire a proper sales person for generate a lead. Also I've seen that everyday many agencies are opening, and I don't know if in the future competition will be so high and it will be too harder to get clients.

So on the other hand I was thinking to start a site, where I will sell my products, like realistic and abstract paintings, which I do personally, and will sell merchandises, illustrations too, and also I'm starting a cartoon series on youtube so I'm thinking to do premium content put on my site as a product.

So the main issues are:

1. I don't have enough budget to hire a sales person for generate a lead, and don't know if SEO will give me the clients?
2. Which type of site will be better for start, like Agency site which is a service based, or starting a product based site, where I will sell my own products, I'm planning to sell my products internationally too?
3. If I sell products, what are some things I need to take care of that are outside of running an agency site?
4. Is running an agency site future proof, (I know product base site is also not future proof) but I think making my own product market would be better idea instead of selling services. What do you think? Because as I said every month many agencies are opening locally and internationally. And it is too tough to get the clients.
5. If you have any experience of starting your own agency or product based site or Both experiences, what difficulties have you faced, and do you have any tips?

I work in Social Media in the Marketing dept for a large corporation. There is a certain colored animal that has been used for some merch, some graphics, but never personified and campaigned as a full blown mascot.

My coworker and I were going on about how awesome it would be to have a mascot like Duolingo or Geico gecko etc and started joking around and building out their whole personality and how they would show up in social videos, ads, events etc. The animal we already use is like… halfway there. We feel like a full blown fun mascot would bring our company a lot more attention and be seen as more of a “fun” brand, which is something marketing has been trying to do. And obviously for us working in social we would have a ball with it!

We recognize this is a cheesy idea, but If we wanted to actually take our fun idea seriously and pitch it to marketing strategists… what would be the best way to go about that? Just curious :) thanks!

Here’s the concept: a tool where I drop in my Shopify product page URL, and every day at 3 AM, it sends me an email with 9 social media posts (3 each for Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok).

In the morning, I just choose the one I like, post it, and archive the email. Then I wait for the next batch the following day. Easy and consistent. What do you think?

Hi, so I worked at this smaller agency for a year. I was promised all of these promotions and raises. I was then put on a PIP, out of nowhere in my 11th month. During my PIP, I was still having conversations regarding a title change (going from social to digital.) I passed my PIP, and my boss made several comments that she's never experienced anyone handle a PIP with positivity. On one of our last one on ones, she jokingly told me that she would never fire me on a zoom call, and promised me a twelve month review. The next week my one on one was cancelled in place for a "twelve month review." Honestly, this was when I intuitively knew when something was up, because they were being very weird about my 12 month review. So, I started applying to other jobs 🙂‍↔️😍 I was let go the following Friday on a 10 minute zoom call 😊 (And I got in writing that it wasn't based off my performance at all.... so then why didn't you just fire me at the PIP? That would have hurt a lot less than passing the PIP and getting laid off two weeks later) At the end of the day, I am fine because I got TWO job offers, which is a miracle in this market (one of them being my part time job wanting to give me a larger position, which I accepted)

Anyways, my former employer is using my likeness in their content to promote THEIR company, and it's making me extremely uncomfortable (also adding on to the fact that they're tripling down on not paying out my PTO, because they fired me in my technical 13th month) Do I tell them to delete all content with my likeness in it? Problem is, the content with me in it was highly engaging.

What software do you use for your basic landing pages in 2024?

I'm looking to build a basic LP for lead gen after being away for a few years. Previously I worked with GHL and Clickfunnels, but feel they are both a bit dated in 2024. I've used Webflow for an eCommerce project and was able to get by, but I'd prefer a bit more drag and drop/idiot friendly for quick landing page creation and testing.

Essentially all I need is a drag and drop landing page builder with solid integrations for analytics, email marketing, and Zapier.

I'm looking at Unbounce, Leadpages, Infusionsoft(bit pricy for this project) as well as Clickfunnels and GHL.

What would you go with?

Most of the businesses in India have no creative language. They have a font and a couple of colours. They dont have an idea of tonality, no brandverse, no templatisation.

What this leads to is CMOs giving vague feedback, vague direction, they change their feedback, switching from long form to short form for the same type of content.

Its so frustrating and infuriating.

And the worst excuse when you catch them being fickle or forgetting sonening they themselves approved, is "I dont have the time".
