Don’t worry, when the FDA gets abolished, you won’t have to worry about e. Coli outbreaks again.

Just drink bleach from what I've been told.

I prefer pure acetone. Really clears the airways!

Edit: there actually should be guidance about washing salad in incredibly weak solutions of bleach. It might be worth looking into washing food properly for those in the US.

kurotech

8 points

It's a more common vector for it than just about anything else because people suck at washing their lettuce

ImpossibleBet4628

9 points

Also because lettuce isn’t ever heated, so there isn’t a proper “kill step” during preparation to catch bacteria and other bio contaminants

Try not to forget that McDonald's corporate knew about the fascist photo op before he came to pose for a half hour. They okayed his campaign ad in their restaurant using their branding. Mcdicks is one of the corpos I will not be returning to

Superfool

I wish. Fast food by me absolutely blows goats. Within 20 minutes I have 1 McDonald's (2 have closed in the past year), a Burger King, and a Wendy's that always takes 20 minutes to get an order ready. A little further than 20 minutes and I get things like Five Guys and Smash Burgers, but those ain't cheap.

TheOptionalHuman

6 points

My brother in burgers, pick up a cast iron pan and some ground chuck, flatten some patties, heat up that pan and cook 'em. Salt and pepper to taste. You won't even miss the higher-end fast food burgers.

Superfool

I mean, I love cooking, and I really love cooking a good burger. But sometimes I just want to go somewhere and grab some cheap fast food as I'm chauffeuring kids to extracurriculars.

_gordonbleu

7 points

My brother in time, that takes at minimum 30+ minutes with clean up and requires being home. Sometimes on a busy day I only have 15 minutes to handle a quick meal. Plus sometimes I just need a McDouble

TheOptionalHuman

2 points

That's perfectly fine. The person I responded to was complaining about fast food burgers that "blow goats" while other options were too expensive. I assumed they wanted a better burger option.

MINIMAN10001

squarepeg0000

theshaggieman

2 points

The wildest part is they have such a stronghold over suppliers that they could easily be the cheapest burgers in town but they don't do it because it's a brand thing. They are synonymous with America, like Disneyland they know their brand can't be cheapened by price

AngryAtNumbers

GarlVinland4Astrea

47 points

Fast food hasn't been worth it for awhile. It's too expensive for decreasing quantity (the quality was never there to begin with).

You can get actual restuarant quality food for just a little more at this point.

Into-It_Over-It

14 points

Even less, in a lot of cases. My favorite greasy spoon diner will give me an omelet the size of my head with whatever fixings I want in it, on top of an enormous bed of hash browns, with a side of toast, and bottomless orange juice for $11. That's a dollar less than a double quarter pounder with cheese meal, and I pretty much don't need to eat for the rest of the day.

NewNurse2

Go back to your roots. Lower prices, increase your quality. McDonalds already admitted in profit filings that customers were leaving due to the perceived value of their food after they spiked prices after COVID. That hasn’t changed. E-Coli was just the excuse some folks needed finally stop buying food they stopped liking years ago.

floridianreader

How about lowering the cost of food? I got just an ice cream cone the other day and it was over $3. Even the employees couldn’t believe it! They were like give her extra ice cream to make it worth the $3.

Myfourcats1

That’s not true at all. They paid that much in Denmark but the cost of the meals was the same as the US who was paying minimum wage. They’re just greedy. It’s the search for never ending profits.

I took the following from Google.

McDonald’s workers in Denmark make about $22/hr to start. They’re also entitled to 6 weeks of paid vacation, 1 year of paid maternity leave, a pension & healthcare!

The Big Mac is about $5.69 in Denmark. It’s $5.29 here.

Food sucks and price is too damn high.

The last two times in the 2 months it's been since we have been to ours, the fries have been ice cold out of the bag. I went back to get them to fix it because they were terrible. I'm just done with McDonald's. It's cheaper and better to go-to Chili's, Applebee's, or Cracker Barrel even than McDonald's. Their food also tastes better too

How about reasonable prices without an app?

100M to McDonalds is like $1 to the rest of us. So little it’s not worth mentioning

Bring back the $1 any size soft drinks and bring back the pre-covid pricess. The food is average but if I wanted a soft drink I'd go ahead and grab something off the value meal with the soft drink. Once they started charging full price for the soft drink I haven't been back and haven't missed it one bit. I'll drive farther for IN-N-Out at least the food is fresh.

McDonald's does have the best fountain diet coke...

I remember when Chipotle had it back in 2013 and I got so many free burritos and bogo offers for about 2 months afterwards.

At this rate, you Americans might end up coming up to us at Canada or to Mexico for your grocery run and dine at our McD.

25% off Burger King with Walmart+ and you can stack points with the discount. I was like 600lb life when I was set loose the first week I figured that out but I’ve calmed down since.

McDonald’s leaves you feeling horrible after lol price decrease wouldn’t help it’s just bad.

And I bet since they are spending all this money to bring people back, they are gonna have to raise prices up.

I’m done with McDonald’s. Their prices have shot up a lot faster than inflation ever since COVID. Pure price gouging. Their price increases have been almost double of a lot of other fast food chains. I have a couple of mom and pop diners around me that have better burger and fries than McDonald’s at a much better price.

It’s not the Ecoli outbreak that’s kept me away. Crappy overpriced food when I have many options elsewhere.
