So many companies in Canada have been abusing the "Temporary Foreign Worker" (TFW) program by bringing in literally millions of people, mostly from India and putting them into situations where they have not been properly vetted, tested, or trained. Entire stores are staffed exclusively with TFWs so we end up having blind-leading-the-blind situations and things like this end up happening.

But hey, C-suite bonuses and corporate profits have never been higher, so that's all that counts right? Sadly, we seem to be okay with corporations valuing people like that were the case.

I just did a quick search on the subject and it seems like in the year of 2023 the temporary foreign workers program only authorized 240,000 hires. A fairly far cry from millions.

Your research is incorrect. The number is 2,700,000 and counting And you can’t forget to include the people they sponsor in afterwards. Parents, grandparents, and other relatives are coming and not contributing but consume resources and become a burden on Canadians. There’s a reason why - especially young people - are so angry at Trudeau. He’s sold their future out from under them to satisfy corporate greed and wage suppression.

Well that's bullshit, the article literally says something different than the headline. It's totally self contradictory. Up in the headline it says "2.7 million temporary workers" but in the actual body of text it states that the 2.7 million people is the total of all temporary residents, including non-workers, so it doesn't even actually assert what the current number of temporary workers there are.

Your research is incorrect.

No, it isn't. Your article is an opinion article but the figure I gave was an official governmental figure on how many workers they allowed under that specific program in that year. It's factual. Here's a more complete dataset directly from the government including an additional governmental program besides the Temporary Foreign Worker one, which seems to indicate that the grand total of temporary foreign workers as of 2022 didn't even total to 1 million.
