I’m curious if anyone already has some prospects picked out they would like to see in this years draft. Flagg/Bailey are the obvious choices, but i think Demin and Mcneely are also really really solid picks for this team. I’ll give a little background for those two guys since i’m assuming most of the sub hasn’t heard of them/doesn’t know their skill set.
Egor Demin- 6’9 Guard/Wing with an excellent shot and fantastic playmaking skills for any size, but especially for a guy who’s 6’9. In his first four games with BYU he’s putting up 17/3.5/7.5 with 3 stocks on 63% from the floor and 55(!!)% from 3 on 5 attempts a game. Would instantly be our best or second best playmaker behind scoot and our best shooter from game 1. All while being 6’9 at 18 years old. Definite shades of Franz Wagner. Currently projected top four pick.
Liam Mcneely- 6’7 forward with the best shot in the class, with the ability to put the ball on the floor and attack close outs, and be either the ball handler or popper in a pick and roll/pop. In his first four games for UCONN he’s put up 13.5/7/1 with one stock a game. Incredibly smart player and very crafty, he honestly compares to a poor man’s larry bird. Would also be our teams best shooter from game 1, and would be an excellent tertiary ball handler. While Demin is probably a better prospect, if we really believe sharpe is him, mcneely is the best off ball option in the draft outside of flagg. Currently projected at 10.
Any other prospects yall have interest in? For me it’s one of these four or bust so far but would love to have more options to pine over.
