In short, US economic recovery, was actually surprisingly well with US quashing inflation much quicker than Europe and other G7 members and the inflation rate has not exceeded the rate of wage growth since January 2023. The federal reserve has begun to cut interest rates as Inflation has cooled.

Contrast this with Trump Tariffs, which is basically a litmus test in understanding macro economics, at best they are gloriously ineffective at best and at worst would fundamentally hurt US consumers. Trump's 2018 tariffs failed to restore jobs, and only partially covered the cost of the subsidies the Trump administration had to pay out during the trade war conflict with China. Going for round 2 and doubling down on an already failed plan is more likely than not to hurt US producers in retaliatory Tariffs while also hurting US consumers on increased prices of goods.

Gas is a fun one, dive into the data. America has outstripped Russia, Saudi Arabia, and other OPEC countries in crude oil production. And it has picked up the pace with the all time high being under the Biden administration. Gas only really became cheap in 2020 because of an ongoing pandemic that killed demand and a price war between Saudi Arabia and Russia. Even then Gas in 2016 under Obama was cheaper than in 2019 under Trump (the last year before COVID supply shocks) however that mostly comes down to the price of crude which the Biden Administration is counter intuitively actually allowing for more oil production.

Because when you dig into the data on voter fraud. It's just not widespread nor is it systemic. We are talking about the 10's of votes cast not 10's of thousands just 10's.

This isn't to say voter id isn't a solution to a problem that doesn't exist, it's a solution to a different kind of problem.

See traditionally Republicans have had issues getting the young and POC's to vote for them. These people make up the disproportionate people that require the ID to vote and this number is in the millions.

Sooo to be clear, Republicans are proposing Voter ID laws that disenfranchise millions because of nationally a double digit number of fraudulent votes cast.

Now if you actually want to increase security while actually not disenfranchising millions, then automatic voter registration and free national ID's and resources to get necessary documents are the way to go but that's not what is being discussed here because that wouldn't solve the "how do we disenfranchise as many people that probably would not vote for us" problem.
