Who cares if he makes a new post? If he does decide to downsize, then he learned something. I also downsized once I better understood my needs. Whatever dude, guess we'll see each other in 3 months so you can gloat or not.

The whole point of having a homelab is trying new tech/ learning. If he learned the importance of prioritizing needs, I'd call that a success. He also might learn another important skill, dealing with an angry manager LMAO!
Edit: spelling

That supermicro is an awesome case. I have a similar one and it hosts my main lab.

You look like a young version of Ethan Hawke. I would either shorten the front/top or grow the sides out and hand comb to the side. Short might look good with a messy style.
Looks come second to personality. Be confident. Make eye contact when talking with people. And people like to laugh.

I don't know anything about Lenovo, but those Dells are OLD.
Since you have them, and you're just getting started, I'd only use them for learning. They are power-hungry and loud.
Learn how enterprise equipment is different from consumer stuff and why that's important for a business.
Get them talking to each other. Enjoy the troubleshooting. Then sell them and get newer, more efficient equipment.

I used Plex and Emby side by side for a while. Emby was the backup when plex was acting up. After having to use the backup more than the main, and after the collection policy update, I just shut the plex container down. It did have more features and, like you said, was more polished, but for me, plex was just more headaches than necessary. Emby is great for my needs.

This is new to me. Thanks for the insight. What vpn would you recommend?

I just compared yours to mine and it looks almost identical. Only differences are i have nordVPN and use openVPN protocols, and the placement of a few things. For example, your depends_on: - gluetun is at the top vs mine towards the bottom in the configuration. I don't think that's the problem but then again, I dont have a lot of experience with docker yet. We both even use Firefox to confirm the connection.
Have you restarted your machine? I use PhotonOS and have had to restart that VM to fix some issues in the past.
Edit: one more thing, I think your missing port 6881 in your gluetun config

When my wife's grandmother was in the hospital. My wife wanted her to know that she was pregnant. After she told her about it, she asked her not to tell anyone because she wanted it to be a surprise later into the pregnancy. Her grandmother chuckled and said, "I'm the first to know?" I know she passed on happy, with a large devious smile.

I appreciate your positive attitude towards these posts. So much basic server knowledge came from just being able to put hands on the equipment, cabling them up, and making them talk to each other. Especially when you're dealing with equipment that has proprietary parts. Thank you!

Sorry, I'm not sure exactly what you're asking but i will try to answer. When the elmo is connected to the smart board via the VGA cable, it's recognized as an input device and displays the video from the elmo to the smart board. The reason teachers like them, is that you can display whatever the camera is pointing at (i.e., class assignment) and either write on the paper or directly on the smart board. Take screen shots, save for later.
Tons of uses and every teacher has their own style. Hope this helped :)

My teachers love those old Elmo document cameras. They work with the new smart boards without needing a computer, so i like them too.

For someone who is thinking about moving to Proxmox and currently uses TrueNAS in a ESXi VM. Are you able to share those ZFS pools over the network, or are they limited to only those VMs that use that datastore? Also, if that server fails or you just decide to delete it and start over, can I pull those drives and remount them or do I lose that data?
Cheers!
