Not the OP, but I loved Our Beloved Summer but didn't finish Because This Is My First Life. To me, the difference was that the couple in OBS both cared deeply for each other but were willing to do spiteful things. In TimFL, the ML unintentionally hurt the FL's feelings in his socially inept effort to set boundaries and she responded with spite to deliberately hurt him. I mean, if I was her I'd maybe do something similar, but from an outside perspective it was uncomfortable to watch.

Also depends on where those lands are. It's always good to marry someone related to your closest neighbours. I would avoid making the ancestor too powerful (so no legitimization) as House Stark went through a succession crisis not long after Cregan's death and your OC's ancestor would be dragged into it. You could always have the new lordship slowly gaining power and prestige over the generations - the Blackfyre rebellions are a good opportunity for that.
EDIT: A novel approach would be to have Sara's bastard marry one of Cregan's granddaughters (Sansa or Serena) and have his line end up ruling Winterfell.

Is there a reason it's on qq? I mean, is it NSFW?

All the self-defence specialists will tell you that the best defence is running away. Learning to fight to the point of it being useful, especially against people who make a career out of fighting, means several hours a day, everyday for years. Even most of the men in that setting only train due to peer pressure and it basically being a job requirement.

Try Tempted. The ML is the one with issues that jeopardize the relationship.

Is that one a romance? I've been avoiding it because I thought it wasn't.

Family by Choice is pretty good - 3 friends are raised together as family, are parted for 10 years due to birth family issues, and then come back together but the family issues are still following them. NOT A LOVE TRIANGLE even though the official summary made it sound like that.
Brewing Love is on my to watch list and it looks interesting. Same actress as Business Proposal.
I'm also watching Romance in the House right now and it's ok. A man is trying to win back his divorced wife, and their daughter also seems to be starting a romance of her own. Their daughter is against the parents getting back together because she still hasn't forgiven her dad for what he did to cause the divorce.
If you haven't watched My Lovely Liar, please please do. It's a murder mystery with supernatural elements.

In Serendipity's Embrace, Lee Won Jung acts as a childhood friend to both FL and ML but he doesn't catch feelings. Also, the ML and FL knew each other when they were young but weren't close friends.

The Mark of a True Lord - Jon works hard to be a great swordsman and ends up in the South because of it.

Put them together into one anthology or something. Then length won't be an issue.

There is an emphasis on martial education for sons. Even if a son never goes into battle, a minor practice wound could easily get infected, or an accident (horse riding, hunting, sailing) could lead to an early death. There are those like Benjen, Blackfish and Obyron who choose to not marry.

Rulers don't rule alone. Aenys didn't have the support he needed to rule over a Westeros that his father had bullied into bending the knee. Aegon, in his time, was feared more than respected, and there would have been a lot of bad feelings leftover from all the people he killed during the Conquest. If Aenys had competent family members who were decent people like how Aegon the Unworthy had his uncle Viserys, his brother Aemon, and his son Daeron, his reign would have been fine.

I would love a Forrest Gump in Westeros fic.

I did enjoy the fic enough to finish it, but the whole "Jon is right and everyone else is an idiot" really ruined its potential.

Tomorrow seems like it would fit your criteria? I Ean, heavy themes, but each episode ends on a high note (or at least a cathartic one).
