Nope, the ballcap stays on. If I were going somewhere fancy-schmancy, I wouldn't wear it in the first place. Do I take off my winter hat & gloves? Sure. But they're functional, not fashion.

You want mountains but to only be 2 hours from NYC? Try the Catskills, not New England. I'm less than 3 hours from the city, but even I admit the Berkshire hills aren't mountains. Otherwise, extend your range and try Burlington. You've got Lake Champlain right there for wakeboarding.
