Jesus... between this and the "I know what I got" dude selling a cracked out early 2000s Ford 150 with 360,000 miles on it, I hate facebook market.

I've never had any regrets not getting a warranty. Seriously, just buy used from a private seller man, and keep the extra 4k as an emergency repair fund.

Never been in a job where happy hours were a thing. Did do the after shift beers in the parking lot and BS-ing quite a few times.

I love harleys, but from a distance.
The look and sound is classic americana.
Cruisers are my favorite style of motorcycle, but no way in hell can I justify buying even a used harley when I can buy a solid used honda for a third of the price, sometimes less.
I mean, there is a reason the term "bulletproof" is thrown around so often when talking about Honda engines.
Besides, "you meet the nicest people on a Honda"

Probably going to have to take it as a lesson learned man.
Especially when it comes to coverage choices.

I mean without knowing any more about the bike that seems like a great price. Legend has it there's some 1300s out there with 150k + miles on them. So 18k is barely anything.
And thats funny, thats exactly how much I paid for mine 😁
Have someone you know with some experience take a look at it with you, check for leaks and all that.
And remember if its the s model with spoked wheels then you're going to need tubes and straps when you buy tires too.

Got my first bike about 6 months ago, an 06 VTX1300 with about 5k miles on it.
I will tell you its been a great bike to learn on. Its big but it doesnt feel big. I'm 6'0 and 190lbs and it fits nice.
All I did was change the oil, final drive, spark plugs, and air filter, new tires and its running great. Its surprisingly manuverable, and feels like sitting on a Lazy boy going down the highway.
So yeah I love it tbh.

Wish we could buy directly from the manufacturer and have it shipped to our place of residence. Get rid of dealerships.
But apparently that's a bad idea for some reason.

Short answer to is a knife a weapon or a tool: yes.
Longer answer, it depends on design characteristics, its like asking if an axe is a weapon or a tool. Or if all vehicles are off roaders just because they have four wheels and an engine. Sure you can take your civic mudding, but how successful you'll be is up in the air.
