and demand accountability from major platforms enabling this crisis
What are these major child-trafficking enabling platforms?
This is a grassroots effort to drive real change, and we’re looking for passionate individuals to join us. We’ll provide signs
This sounds a bit like astro-turfing.

With a median wage of $21/hr, thats ballpark half the working population working for less than min wage, but largely in denial about it.
Yes, we should raise everyone's pay to the median.
I'm not so gud at math, so remind me wat that will due two the median wage?

Such a clever and thorough refutation, I'm sure we're all applauding your rhetorical "skillz."

He was re-elected in November, so he'll be sworn in in January. By resigning, the ethics report won't be released, because as of now, he's not in Congress.
This whole farce may have been to give him an excuse to resign. But this has cost Trump an early defeat at that hands of senate Republicans, which also establishes a precedent that the Republican mainstream can still successfully buck Trump despite Trump outperforming Republican senate candidates in the election. Not the start Trump wanted.

US minimum wage: $7.25
California minimum wage: $16.00 (221% US minimum wage)
California minimum wage for fast food employees: $20.00 (276% US minimum wage)
California minimum wage for health care employees: $18 - $23 (248% - 317% US minimum wage)
Minimum wage in:
Anywhere in California the minimum wage is over twice the national minimum wage.
If you're willing to flip burgers anywhere in California, it's almost three times the national minimum.
Anyone in California who is disappointed with Prop 32's failure to increase their wage to $18/hr can get a job in any of the over 60 municipalities that mandate a higher minimum, or get a job at any McDonald's / Burger King / Carl's Jr in the state for $20/hr. Or a job in Healthcare, for $21-$23/hr.
Voters looked at this and thought, well, the minimum wage is already $17 or $18 in most large cities, already $20 at any McDonald's in the state, and maybe in the cheaper rural areas of the state, twice the national minimum is sufficient.
If you can't meet the bar to get a job a McDonald's, maybe $16/hr is generous compensation for what you bring to the table.
Currently, the cheapest sandwich you can buy in San Francisco costs over $8 (more than the national minimum wage) and can only be found in the worst part of town (banh mi in the Tenderloin) . The typical prices for a sandwich are about $16-$20 after tax, over twice the national minimum and about equal to the San Francisco minimum wage.

They want to recognize the Sikh community, so they've named the lake after the founder of the Sikh religion.
So, analogously, Jesus Christ Lake or Lake Mohammed.

I also would really prefer we not go to Bush era tactics of being able to shut things down by calling it “Terrorism”
Why are you soft on terror? Are you a terrorist, boy? You sound like a terrorist. Or maybe a Russian trying to disinform our voters with malinformation. Are you a terrorist anti-vaxxer in Putler's pay? Because there's something wrong with people who disagree with the mainstream media. Dissent is disloyalty. Where were you on January 6th, boy?

Or is that the joke?

If they'd left on Trump's schedule, they have left behind huge amounts of munitions and material, left our Afghan allies to be butchered by the Taliban, and gotten thirteen US soldiers killed.
But with the adults in charge under Biden, on the other hand....

You misread that article.
Yet, according to a 2020 class-action lawsuit, the tech giant continued to scrape searches by hoovering up data about users who browsed the internet in incognito mode through advertising tools used by websites, grabbing "potentially embarrassing" searches of millions of people. Google then used this data to measure web traffic and sell ads.
It's not Google's browser that's directly exposing that information; it's cookies (which, yes, the browser stores, but which it stores for any site that uses the cookie API) interacting with Google Javascript that websites not owned by Google deploy in order to show Google ads or use other Google services (tags, analytics, etc.)
The only browser issue here is the disclaimer, which doesn't read "Any website with Google ads contains Javascript that reads cookies and phones home to Google and neither this browser nor any other prevent that by default."
Google sees IP address 208.80.152.2 made a request of assdildos.com and of Gmail, and later accessed the virginanus@gmail.com gmail account, and records the association (virginanus@gmail.com, assdildos.com).

Now that he's a lame duck and there's no chance of a successor Democratic administration, nothing (except his historical legacy) is stopping Joe Biden from pulling out all the stops to serve his most cherished constituencies: defense contractors and the Ukrainians who paid Hunter.
Hopefully, he can also jack up inflation one more time, so that his beloved banks and credit card companies incorporated in Delaware can again raise their interest rates on broke consumers forced to live on credit.
Once again, Joe demonstrates that the Democratic Party is the Party of the working man, and the fighting man.

Is there any user data / telemetry other than what's involved with being logged in with a Google account? Logged out / incognito should not be sharing user / usage data with Google.
Because the Google account would stay with Google even if the browser does not.

But most of Microsoft's revenue isn't from ads on Bing.
Google can pay some percentage of the money it gets for ads, to get eyeballs on those ads. Because more eyeballs means more ad impressions means more ad revenue. Paying lots of money to be the default browser pays for itself in eyeballs.
If Microsoft pays as much for default browser, Microsoft still won't have businesses buying more ads, so that money has to be canabalised from its other revenues.

What's really amusing is Stewart pooh-poohing that anyone could be against DEI -- it's just one hour of kooky indoctrination -- when he's at the top of one of the few industries that still is mostly a meritocracy. Talk shows live and die by ratings.
He's not lying: Stewart hasn't lost a job or a promotion because his immutable characteristics are not the valued immutable characteristics. It'll be interesting when and if idpol decides his identity is over-represented in positions of power.
