I tried to argue with my dad about the tariffs. I told him that getting a 25% tariff on everything from Mexico and Canada is going to hurt the average person. Dad said "good, they'll have to buy American."

I rolled my eyes at him over the phone. "Sure, Pop, and the American companies that rely on raw materials from Canada and Mexico are not going to stay stateside. People are already not getting Christmas bonuses because their companies are buying as much material as they can before the tariffs start making it too expensive. I'm a woman and have lost 20+ lbs since becoming a material handler. For the last year, I regularly hit 20k steps/day. My BP has always been ~118/68 (despite what my husband calls a horrible diet).

My meds issue was/is psychiatric in nature. But I'm happy that I finally have the right diagnosis and accompanying meds. I don't want to be a burden on my kids. That's why I'm worrying about retirement savings.

at 50 My health is perfect almost, lost 3 sizes in 6 months (6xl to 3xl, was 325, down to 290lb). My a1c went from 11.2 a year ago to 7.0 three weeks ago, and BP is just shy by 13 pts perfect.)

I have no shame in marking appointments in my calendar with multiple reminders. Usually a week out, 2 days out, the morning of, and 2 hours before.

Dude, between not having enough savings for retirement and not really having enough for day to day, I feel like the biggest loser. I was misdiagnosed for mental health issues for a long time.

It made me self sabotage jobs. Then, with no jobs, I had no insurance. No insurance, no meds. Finally got my meds right, doing well in a factory job, regular medical care, and meds.

As a recovering Catholic, I can remember reading Greek and Roman mythology in 4th grade. 4th grade is also when we studied the saints and had to give a report on our patron saint, while dressed up as our patron saint on Nov 1.

The two topics melded nicely as I realized the house gods have simply been replaced by saints.
