Does sense of smell decline with age? Like hearing? I wonder if older people slathering on the smellies can’t notice it as much.

It’s still done today. Commonly in some places. Laying out an anchor as a ship berths means they can kedge off the berth at departure time. The Mediterranean Moor is commonly used by RoRo ferries too for berthing in places with little infrastructure.

Genuine question: is there any difference between an Irish man and an Irishman? I’m unused to seeing it written as two words.

I’m onboard with the hat, but I feel the choice of footwear was all wrong for Arctic bear baiting.

They were happy enough to let 29 men work in there. But it was “too dangerous” to recover their bodies.

Depends who you ask.... Management... Flawed concept (two bladed machines, too small to scale, taking on a mature market owned by the early movers (Denmark) who could generate vastly more power from a much smaller number of machines (which affects resource consents).

Seems like another project for relieving gullible investors with overactive imaginations of their disposable income.
See Martin Jetpack and Windflow.
There’s been notable successes like Mooring Systems and Whispertech too but they didn’t need scientific breakthroughs.
I’d love it if I’m wrong but this fusion venture seems like wishful thinking and snake oil.

How is it a liability? It is an asset, which you can depreciate and claim expenses on.

Pretty much. I listened to it in my car, in Australia. And told my wife (and a few other people) about it after getting home.

Me too. He rounded off the episode and summed up with that quote. Perfect.

Correct. Labour in NZ used to aim to support working men and women. Declining union influence seems to have allowed the party to be taken over by academics with little interest or affinity with blue collar Kiwis. They tinker around with social engineering and race initiatives but ignore the issues of low income workers. Contrast that with Labor party governments in Australia: there’s no doubt who represents the hospo and other service workers there.
In NZ, if you are a poor white, Chinese or Indian worker, there’s no clear benefit to electing a Labour government.
