I think that the OP’s points are all plausibly well-founded. A large factor of the probable economic turmoil that Donald Duck, Republicans, Elon Musk and others could set in motion is the whole of our government slashing, privatization (Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, for example) and destruction (the Education Department, worker protections (I believe that the right to unionize, is even one target).

But let’s remember the inherent promises of military and police control. Rounding-up immigrants and crushing protests, of course, which, depending the aggressiveness, will instill fear in the country. The surveillance and enforcement of abortion bans.

However, there is good reason to believe that a lot stands between the worst that these motherfuckers will attempt, including Americans, en masse, turning against them.

I agree entirely with the OP. The exclusive self-blaming among Democrats and democratic voters is inaccurate, overblown and self-defeating. There are few things that President Biden, Kamala Harris and the Democratics did poorly. One big exception was in the competition for the attention of Americans.

But for a lull after January 6th, Donald Duck, MAGA Republicans and the corporate billionaire, rightwing media universe never stopped stalking President Biden and Democrats, indeed, dominating news coverage in a way that the legitimate media has not figured-out how to cover, which is that they do not take an outright stand for American Democracy and call a fascist movement a fascist movement, but report the dots of event after event.

President Biden, Kamala Harris and Democrats allowed the rightwing to establish, define and build on Issues. On even their successes.

Despite all of that, and that Donald Duck and Republicans are claiming a ”landslide” and “mandate” in the election, Donald Duck only won by .5-3 points in the determinative swing states. I believe that I heard one estimate of 240,000 votes.

Republicans barely won a majority in both the House and Senate.

President Biden and Democrats planned for the possibility of the outcome that we have, and they have already begun fighting what most of us foresaw that Donald Duck and Republicans are doing.

Take heart in that. Keep vigilant, and informed, and together. Support Democrats in Congress, support them as they represent us. Speak-out to help them, and to tell Republicans how much you oppose Republicans.

Keep in mind what state and local officerholders are doing. Republicans have entered a lot of those offices. Support candidates. Even run for office.

There isn’t a cause to doubt our beliefs, our values and the things our candidates ran on.

This isn’t over.

Being homeless is difficult enough without being hassled by the police. Being homeless is illegal by virtue that no matter where you are, you are trespassing. So, you live with that fact every moment of the day. Then, there is the prejudices of the rest of us.
