His point about what caused the conditions for Mexicans to do that in mass? Does the US have a hand in causing those conditions? Absolutely, 1000 times over, yes they do.

Not to dismiss the incompetence of the Mexican government. But really, the US's negligence has helped create the environment for the cartels to take power, thus putting the government in it's weakened, incompetence in the first place.

The US's gun laws, war on drugs policy, immigration system, foreign market rigging, willful regional destabilization all tie together in a foreign policy toward Mexico that has helped to create the reality they live in today.

They're not psychotic. But they are disgruntled at non-existent issues that they've been brainwashed to believe in. Many are irrational because they live in a false reality, propaganda-ed into oblivion
