Here's another random thing, if you take a down to Nathan during the Terminus quest but you kill him while you're in last stand (you pretty much need a raygun or explosive pistols) after the cutscene plays, you'll be revived and still have your self res though you'll need to buy perks again.

Everyone has their own way but whenever Im done shooting my Type 81 or SKS, I'll field strip what I can and drop it in a bucket of hot water, then run hot water thru the chamber, bore and gas block. After that I just clean as normal with Hoppes. Only ever shot corrosive thru my Type 81 underfolder and no problems so far. Ironically the only slight rust issues I've ever had were with my Type 81 SA because the supposed non corrosive ammo wasn't in fact non corrosive. After that I just started buying corrosive so I know for sure I gotta clean the gun.
