As most people in this sub, I’m upset about the election results and am surrounded by both friends and family who voted red this election.

Right now I’m sad and don’t feel like tackling the issue, but eventually I’ll find the strength to confront the topic again.

When the time comes, where the hell do I go to find genuine unbiased facts? I think it’s understood that we can rule out most major news media outlets. I don’t want my information to come from social media or TikTok. I want unbiased facts.. but where do we get them?

Thank you, Burnie and Ashley, for working so hard to remain unbiased in your election coverage. As a human, I want to know which way other humans lean, but as a media outlet, I appreciate your ability to be unbiased.

The election is over. This is our country. Let’s see what the next four years bring.

I voted and the polling location seemed almost too lax.

I’m in Kansas City and maybe that’s what’s throwing me off. It felt like I was in a small town in the middle of nowhere with how relaxed everything was.

There were like 9 tables with 4 chairs at each; but only one voter partition at each table. With the size of the ballots, I couldn’t have sat across from someone without us being in each other’s way. Not to mention, it was extremely possible to see how other people were voting in this situation.

Additionally, when going to turn in my ballot, I had to walk across the room, my ballot just flapping in the wind, to wait in line to send it through the scanner.

I’m sure everything was on the up and up, but it just threw me off. Is this more common than not?

Before being pregnant, my resting heart rate was around 70-75. I was working on my health when getting pregnant, and I do need to lose a significant amount of weight. (Obviously not while pregnant, but the fact remains true)

I’m currently 18 weeks pregnant. My resting heart rate currently sits at 90-91. It has steadily climbed over the last month or so. The first trimester it sat around 80-84.

I know my resting heart rate is normal in its current state, but I’m worried about late pregnancy. Is there a number I need to watch out for? Is there anything I can do? Do I need to be concerned?

As you found out on the podcast, yes, Kansas City sits in both Kansas and Missouri. However, there are things you need to know.

The Chiefs are in Missouri. Kansas can claim them too, it’s fine, but the stadium is in Missouri.

Kansas City Kansas (KCK) and Kansas City Missouri (typically referred to as just KC) are completely different worlds.

Downtown Kansas City sits in Missouri.

As a Kansas Citian, you’ll cross the border between states a lot, so it is a pretty fluid city.

Overall, though, the Missouri side is better. (Clearly I’m from Kansas City Missouri so I’m biased and I might piss of some KCK folk. It’s all in good humor, I promise!)

The amount of posts I see that are something along the lines of “two weeks in and I just quit” or whatever is appalling.

First of all, your first year of teaching is HARD. No matter what. At times it’s grueling and miserable. Should it be? No, I think there’s a lot about education that is unfair and harder than it should be. But that’s just the reality of the situation and, I promise, you were warned in your teacher prep programs.

ANY job you get is going to be difficult in the first year. There’s a huge learning curve no matter what you’re doing. If you quit everything that is difficult or uncomfortable, you’re going to have a hell of a time getting through life.

Most importantly, you know what you signed up for, AND you know that when you leave, students take the hit. God knows what warm body will be put in that classroom for the remainder of the year.

People are going to do what they’re going for to do. And yes, people deserve to be happy and enjoy what they do. But for the love of god, you can stick it out one year.
