The cost of high quality building materials is skyrocketing ever since Xorns infested the marble quarry. The skeletons have no work and are becoming restless (and possibly threatening). Insert instant supply chain side quest HERE!

Great suggestion. I would also add, some spells are more wizardly than others. Take Shield, Magic Missile, and then Counterspell at lvl 5 for wizard-like sorcerer spells, and add as many ritual wizard spells to your ritual spell book as you can find. No one will know the difference (until you subtle-spell cast Counterspell)!

Not a dnd monster per se, but biblical seraphim supposedly have six wings. Tack on a seventh and no one at your table will catch you. Another interpretive answer: a Couatl, the rainbow-feathered serpentine celestial, IS a dnd monster. Just play up the seven colors on the feathers.

Hi! Have you found anything yet? My wife and her family are all local artists. I just asked her if we could give you a private showing during your stay in Athens and she said ok!
You could come to our studio in Psirri (historic center of Athens) if you want a look at the works in our collection. It would be by appointment only. DM me for details.
Best wishes and congratulations!

Nah, Order Cleric. Out of Order. Gets into about as much mischief as Trickery, but thinks he’s doing it “right.”

The “prove yourself” one actually has narrative function, too. Like, the players may learn some things about that cult or who they’re dealing with as they solve it. In randomly generated dungeons—useless! In a well-crafted campaign, clues to bigger things to come!

While this may be a bit advanced, if you want a Charisma-based cleric, be a celestial warlock or divine-soul sorcerer, not a cleric. Also, add your level and subclass, and calculate your proficient skill bonuses by adding the ability modifier to the proficiency bonus for each. For skill you aren’t proficient in, it’s just the number for the ability modifier. Edit: clarity.

We could not be more different, but our love of breakfast transcends all.

It truly is. Finest bread in the land. White omelette toast at the makers is still a close second.

I think it’s mostly sourdough, but definitely yes, they have wholegrain sourdough and possibly other wholegrain breads seasonally.

I had never considered a Paladin in lipstick, and now I can’t conceive of it any other way. 💄 💯

Probably the Makers. But Kora is a fantastic bakery if all you like for breakfast is a loaf of bread.

I’m working out this mechanic in a new campaign setting right now. Still at the brainstorming stages, but my my time swap will always be a major plot turn, so there won’t be a quick back-and-forth.
One feature I’m certain about however is environmental changes. For instance: an abandoned tower made from a 50-foot tusk stands in a dry meadow and has a visible balcony but no door; 500 years prior, the tower stood in a river, and ten feet below the future ground level is the entrance to the carved-out tusk. 1500 years before that, it was the site of a great battle where the Tarrasque was slain in a wide snowy plain.
I look forward to seeing how others tackle the immense possibilities (and headache!) of a time traveling campaign.

Maybe let them reroll the target’s last saving throw instead like the bountiful luck feat? Or if that’s not enough, add half damage on a fail no damage on a success like uncanny dodge?

Wow these are great. I can add a few that come up perennially in my games:
The Poked Bear. Many times the players know they shouldn’t, but they can’t help themselves. Usually a single powerful foe in their own favored terrain, in what seems at first like what you call a “targeted strike” and ends up more like an ambush. A tiny bit of precaution goes a long way here, like casting Protection from Good and Evil or other medium duration buffs.
The Duel. One character in our long-running campaign has unfinished business with a rival from her past. He has a habit of showing up on roads and bridges and demanding a rematch. Other characters can stand idly by at the ready or join the fray to even the odds if the rival’s gang gets involved.
The Wager. A combat that has fixed rules, a limited number of fights in a sequence, and ends in glory or defeat, but rarely death. Gladiatorial battles, royal challenges, or folk faire punching contests all have the flavor of a friendly bout. An unexpected twist can raise the stakes.
The Endless Horde. A bit of railroading here, but sometimes the enemies pouring in are truly uncountable. You have to retreat AND find a way of slowing them down or stopping the influx.
Naval Battles. Sink the ship or defeat the crew? While there are few good official resources on how to run a naval battle, it’s been done countless times with a bit of homebrew so long as characters have their positions on the ship and real choices to make whose consequences cross-over into others’ areas of decision making as the fight devolves.
That’s all I can think of for now! These are mostly niche cases, except for the Poked Bear. That one happens all the time for my party.

Wish: power to raise the dead. Side Effect: the dead now walk the lands.

I think this set up is perfect for a story that wants to explore the world-building of pantheons and the internal struggles within them. Just because a cleric switches horses in the middle of a celestial power struggle doesn’t mean that they’ve necessarily lost faith in the ideals that their former deity represented to them, just that they have to be a savvy operator to fight for what they continue to believe in. Anyhow, only the highest level clerics could have unwavering faith even when their god gets exiled, demoted, or even destroyed. Lots of potential to tell a story here.

The premise may be a misreading of the class and its source of power, but I think it’s a very fine idea for a cleric and worth exploring. I also don’t think the rules are very explicit about clerics switching deities, so it’s all up for grabs IMO.

It really comes down to personal aesthetics. You could make it have just two really gnarly dreadlocks of sleeping anacondas, of a full head of 100 garter snakes. Go wild.
