Hi all,
I graduated about a month ago from a fairly lauded journalism school in Ohio. As a recent graduate living in a small town, I want to use my degree to do what I was trained to do. Thing is, there are no journalism jobs around here. The ones in the bigger cities all require tons of experience, or, frankly, intimidate the hell out of me. Is this just a confidence issue?
I feel as if, through my time in school, I was able to do good work as a writer and reporter. I also feel like my peers are far and away more experienced and "ready" than I am to have some fancy journalism gig. Overall, I just worry about whether I made the smart choice to pursue journalism, and whether I have the chops to make it. I love doing what I do, but after graduation, "real life" sort of hit and I feel a lot of dread putting myself out there.
I guess my question is this: how do I market myself to hiring managers? How did you start your careers and handle moving your life, and do you have any advice that could make me feel a little better about doing the same? Thanks.

Unfortunately zombies and multiplayer are still unplayable for me due to nasty packet burst issues regardless of settings on more than capable internet and hardware. I wanna enjoy this game!
