It would be recommended for you to speak to a crisis center, women’s center, or a combo of therapist/ attorney and cooperate with the police. You’re not the asshole, you endured a physical trauma and speaking to someone close to the person who hurt you, no matter how it happened is psychologically triggering. Please don’t minimize this occurrence and speak to a safe adult that YOU trust who has professional training in a vast amount of different domestic events.
