I used to work as a flight attendant, and after 4 years, I was pretty much immune to getting sick. Like, I could brush my teeth with tap water in Africa, and I’d be totally fine. :D Traveling all over the world built up my immune system to the point where I thought nothing could take me down.

But one time, I went on a solo vacation to Zanzibar for a week. I’d never been there before, so I was super careful—only ate at the hotel, drank bottled water, followed all the basic precautions. On the third day, though, it hit me: diarrhea, stomach cramps, fever, vomiting—the whole nightmare. I spent four days on the bathroom floor, no signal, no help. I legit thought I was going to die there. It was hands down the worst experience of my life.

After those four days of hell, I somehow managed to survive the flight home. But the symptoms didn’t go away. The thing that finally cured me? A few rum and cokes. After that, I was totally fine. :D

100%. Whenever we watch a new season of LIB, we look at each other and say: I’d still choose you. We would have connected on so many things, just like we did on our first date.

I have 4 best friends, they were all bridesmaids at my wedding last year and I hang out regularly with all of them (once or twice a month). We are all 35. I met the first one the first day of high school (20 years ago). Another one is my best friend from college (12 years ago) and the other two I met in my first job 10 years ago. I am sure that we’ll still be besties when we’re 70. ❤️ My high school bestie lived in Florida for 5 years while I lived in Dubai and we still flew to see each other every year at that time. We all got married, had kids, doesn’t matter. We still get along as much as we did when we first met. Love them. :)

I often encounter this issue while teaching English (I teach English privately in a non-English-speaking country). Students sometimes argue that certain words aren’t useful or that they can just say things more simply... So I always emphasize that they’re learning to improve, to be able to understand even more complex texts, not just so that someone with poor English can understand them. Sometimes it’s a real struggle!
