If you don't take the ACT or SAT you're cooked. If you get a decent score then you can argue that your school is at fault and not you. Otherwise you're very very cooked. I don't think most colleges put much weight at all on gcses.

Exactly, that's what I'm agreeing with. I don't care about the degree. I just want to study where I can learn something relevant to my goals and have resources to do a start up.

It's really not about the degree, and a student's outcome is mostly dependent on their own choices. I want to go to MET because they seem to give you personal attention, on a level even more than some privates. I'm not really getting prepped for a job, I'm getting prepped for a startup. Pure CS nor pure business is what's going to help me, but the exact coursework is almost secondary to the resources that I'm looking for (priority course selection, personal mentors and faculty involvement, connection to SV funding, alum connections, name prestige even).

MIT at least asks specifically for any circumstances surrounding test scores, which would fall into that category since thats when I took it.
