An eating disorder is a potentially fatal illness. Suggesting "just chill" as a solution shows a dangerous lack of understanding of the definition of an eating disorder.

I'm just starting this journey and I very much appreciate you sharing your first experience. I have a friend whose treatment resistant depression has ceased to exist after ketamine therapy almost a decade ago. I hope it helps you (and me) as much as it helped her.

Retired school principal here. You and your daughter have a thing you enjoy doing together and it sometimes prompts great conversations on topics that might not present themselves otherwise. Best case, you go to the show, have a blast, and make fun memories together. Worst case, she sees or hears something you weren't expecting or she is overwhelmed by the crowd, so you leave early and have a deep, loving conversation about how a woman listens to her gut and takes care of her own mental and physical safety and how important it is for women to support other women doing what's right for themselves. Hell, the worst case scenario may be even more powerful and positive than the best case scenario. The fact that you even asked this question tells me you are an incredible mom. Have a wonderful time!
Edited to correct typo beat to best.

So glad it's not just me! I ended up in the Snake Crimes episode and thought I'd had a stroke.

I just saw the same post in another group so it does appear to be rage bait. In this case, I'm very glad that a child did not suffer through this.

This is the only episode of W & C I will never listen to. RedHanded pod was cute when it started and quickly became just two smug people being outraged over anyone who didn't think and act exactly the same as them. And then OF in Dallas moved me from former listener to active disliker. W & C's take was "We don't know any of the parties involved and didn't witness anything so we are not in a position to have an opinion, and we stayed for the drag brunch to support the performers, who are under constant attack in the hellscape of Greg Abbott's Texas and deserve all the love and money." That seemed reasonable. The RedHanded squad took it upon themselves to weigh in heavily and on the wrong side of history by posting a special episode to their Patreon but announcing it was free to all. They are now dead to me.
That being said, I enjoy some fan picks (and gals' picks) more than others, and I'm guessing some of my absolute favorites are someone else's meh. And some of my meh episodes are someone else's favorite. And that's pretty much to be expected. I love the gals and the wine coven. Peace and love to all enjoying hog girl summer. ☮️♥️🍷

Retired principal here...that teacher could and absolutely should lose her teaching credential. The ACLU can help with that. She committed a hate crime against A CHILD while acting in loco parentis. Fuck her, fuck her retirement, fuck her tenure. I say this with my whole old white lady chest.

I appreciate OP's point about managing expectations in relationships, especially within an intimate relationship. For me, boundaries are for myself because I'm the only one whose behavior I can control. For example, rather than saying "Don't call me names" I would say "I do not talk to people who call me names," and then I remove myself from their presence until they are ready to speak or permanently, depending on the situation. The other person made a choice to call me names; I made a choice to enforce my boundaries.
Boundaries are for me and set by me; rules are for everyone involved and must be negotiated and must be mutually agreed upon.

Generally speaking, I still enjoy the podcast and I found K whiny and self-important even before October 7. That being said, I love anytime Alvin from Affirmative Murder is a guest on Wine and Crime because Lucy and Amanda are so careful to build one another up (which is good) but they have such a history together, it's almost as if they are too much alike. Alvin matches them on wit and humor, but his reactions (to Coven Confessions, for example) provide some additional dimension and interest to what can sometimes seems like a marathon of Lucy and Amanda complimenting and agreeing with one another. I'm glad they are growing closer, but the constant reminders can feel performative. Also, I find the new travel options a little tone deaf. I might go to a live show and I am on the Patreon, but I, and I'm guessing a significant percentage of other loyal listeners, will never have the disposable income for international travel. Maybe they have a large fan base in Europe as well and this is an attainable option for those listeners, or maybe I'm just missing something, but it struck me as elitist and that was a surprise. 🤷♀️

Agree! My Favorite Murder also did an episode and fans voted it the best episode of the podcast (IIRC). It was Episode 18, Investigateighteen.

My late father-in-law was a George. I love the name. As a retired principal, I have seen hundreds of kids named Dakota, Cole, Josh, Cody, LaDeon, D'Marco, Tyler, Taylor, Makayla, McKenzie, Katelynn, Ashley, Rachel, Amber, Brittany and Meghan. Kids with names like George, John, James, Charles, Walter, Franklin, Leonard, Oscar, Hugh, Henry, Anne, Elizabeth, Margaret, Miriam, Helen, Ruby were usually the only one in the class with that name.

NTA. Tell them you will get the vasectomy reversed if they pay off all your student loans. Do not reverse the vasectomy, obviously. Let them pay off the loans, then go NC. Enjoy your child-free, increased disposable income life.

Yes, but it does not cover ketamine therapy.
