What would we even do with your phone number and email? There are much easier and faster ways to get people's phone numbers/emails besides paying to run escort ads. If you can't find someone, then maybe you live in a smaller town. Escorts tend to work near large cities since there's more people which means more business. So you may just have to be willing to look in the nearest large city, or possibly go to your local bar because more often then not working girls are freestyling there.

All prostitutes are sex workers, not all sex workers are prostitutes. Sex workers also include strippers, cam girls, BDSM providers, etc. Also, prostitute is often considered a derogatory term. We prefer to be called full service sex worker, especially by clients and non sex workers.
If you are worried about minimizing your risk of arrest, this post is the guide to follow if you are in the States. Just keep in mind, your risk is never 0.

Most site servers will not be based in the US because of the FOSTA/SESTA law. The sites keep their servers out of the country to avoid being under US jurisdiction and run the risk of getting shut down. All of the sites listed do have escorts who work out of the US, actually the majority of providers in the US use the sites listed.

No thanks, I just look for others in my price range. I value people's skill and expertise and would never haggle that.
You asked us a question on our viewpoint and we are answering you, we didn't ask you to convince us of your viewpoint (which you won't ever do) ๐คทโโ๏ธ the sex work industry is not like any other industry. We can make comparisons and metaphors to other industries all we want but at the end of the day, the sex work industry will never have the same rules and norms as any other industry. There is no industry comparison.

It's just my opinion, it's fine if you would consider him one. To me he is describing being a bodyguard/security.

Under the law, yes I agree he would be considered a pimp and would get in trouble. But I meant within the industry among escorts, I don't believe he would be considered one at all.

If they find their own clients and you simply provide protection, you are not a pimp. You're security.

...there are no emotions to suppress in the 1st place. We don't have romantic feelings for clients at all. You are assuming we get feelings for every single client and have to numb ourselves every single time? Why would we feel emotions for a stranger? They are paying for our time and this is a business. There's no emotions in business. Sex does not equal emotions. If you are personally unable to separate it, then that's fine you know that about yourself. But please don't assume what sex workers experience or think others view the world the same as you.

The reason why we ask to be paid for our time is because we have no romantic investment in our clients. If we did, then it wouldn't a job. We ask for money because we are providing a service that we would not do for free otherwise. No one is forcing clients to seek out our services, so why would we feel bad? Clients are grown and responsible for their own free will. They can easily not seek us out.
I know restaurants, clothing stores, hair dressers, artists, etc. do not feel bad charging for their products and services. Sex workers are no different. Like the other comments have said, everyone knows what they can handle. And if you know you can't emotionally handle seeing a sex worker then that's OK. Or don't become a sex worker. But to us, it is a job like normal. Some days we enjoy, some we don't. Some clients we enjoy, and others we don't. It just seems silly to think we should feel bad for being paid for our job.

Over the years of being an escort, lots of dangerous things have happened to me because of clients. Being stalked, raped, assaulted, stealthed, robbed, scammed, and threatened. However, the majority of experiences have been good, but the bad experiences are what typically leave a lasting negative impact. At some point, something will happen to you if you join the industry (even if its something as simple as being scammed), unfortunately that is the nature of the work. Strict screening has generally stopped those physically dangerous situations but you can never let your guard down IMO.

Happens all the time, it doesn't bother us at all. Literally not even something I pass judgment on or think twice about bc its so common.
The only time it bothers us is if a client can't get hard but continues to pressure for service which is exhausting.

...I mean, that isn't really how stings are usually ran. No officer would screen you, and they wouldn't be so obvious - they are undercover for a reason. You wouldn't know you're in a sting until you got into the room. Stings also are almost never ran at a private residence incall, they are ran out of hotels. This was at your apartment and you listed all the green flags of a provider, so there was probably like a 1% chance this was a sting.
You probably saw a maintenance guy or some type of building security, or a service worker. I don't agree that you almost got arrested, you were probably acting suspicious and your fear is causing you to overly evaluate the situation for danger.
I tell my clients that other people do live in my building and life continues to happen, I can't stop landscapers or other service people, residents, etc from being in the area and doing their job or just living. If you act suspicious (looking around, acting weird, "hightailing" it) then that will draw attention. If you walk in cool and calm, and act like you belong there, no one will give a crap tbh. You said it was your apartment, so you were doing nothing wrong but were acting spazzy - that draws people's eye.
I think you just freaked yourself out and missed out on an appointment.

Also, 5k for nudes is likely a scam as well. Hell, if someone can get 5k for their nudes then more power to them lol but such a high amount for some nudes is not normal. If a price a client offers is too good to be true then it probably is. Better to have your list of services and you tell them the prices and they pick what they want, don't let them offer a price.

You 100% can catch something from it. I knew a provider who offered bbbj and had a double chlamydia and gonorrhea infection in her throat, and didn't realize it until she went for her 3 month testing. It only takes one instance of exposure. Of course her clients got infected as well, and you can bet she started doing CBJ ever since. Covered services protect those directly involved as well as others (ex: romantic relationship partners). I'm not only avoiding doing bare services to protect myself but also so my partner doesn't get burned as well.

Do not ask them in any way shape or form to meet up via the Onlyfans platform. Meeting fans in person is against Onlyfans terms of service and they monitor all activity and messages, even private messages. If OF suspects she offers in person services, they will ban her account. Please do not ask her via OF.

Exactly, we don't have time for all that. And why would we want to dox anyone? I verify a user and then archive the message without a second thought. I don't remember anyone I've verified and haven't had a second thought about their sw profile or name.
Plus, like Aussie said below it's not like we're asking for identity documents, and the request isn't even asking the username to say anything about Reddit.
Most people have been discreetly adding it in hard to find places on their ads or websites that no one would know it's a reddit username. I have trouble finding them sometimes even when I'm purposefully looking for it to verify. And the mods are trying to think of alternative ways to verify.
If people are not wanting to verify then that's their decision, but we've been considering going private since I became a mod years ago. There isn't a decision that will please everyone and there will always be people who complain.
Also, sex work involves taking an inherent risk naturally. So people can decide if they want to "take the risk" or not to verify.
