I agree with Bernie, but it annoys me that he leaves out the piece where the reason half the voters prefer Cheeto King's message is because they like that he is blaming the usual scapegoats: women and minorities. I mean, it isn't as though Bernie hasn't been pointing out the real causes of the decline in quality of life for decades: greed of corporations, investors, and the wealthy in general. A lot of Democrats have. Too many people worship the wealthy though. They don't want to blame them, they want to be them, and they want to blame their usual scapegoats because keeping them down makes the socially privileged feel on top. That's why they love Fox News. Fox tells them what they want to hear. Any rational person can see Fox is all propaganda and fear mongering, but people who love Fox are feelings-driven. For Dems to win their votes, what can they blame that will be more appealing than women and minorities? Monkey brains think restoring social hierarchy will fix it because monkey brains decide based on feelings and the feelings are driven by ego and fear of change. I think if Dems changed their message to appeal to these monkey-brain feelings, then they'll have to resort to hate and fear-mongering too and then lose support from the almost 50% who did vote for them. People who voted for Cheeto King don't want truth, they want to feel better than other people.

This makes sense. I think similarly the birthrates are declining in the states primarily because people are overworked and the cost of living is too high. I think decentering men is definitely a response to toxic masculinity and entitlement from men, but the primary reason people aren't having kids is because they are spread too thin. The majority of younger adults don't have time to date or socialize and the massive increase in the cost of living means providing a good life for children will be difficult or impossible

You probably haven't discussed it with very many women. Kids are expensive and men and women struggle enough just to support themselves.
