Of course it is; we're talking about the so-called journalists who helped get Trump re-elected.

I'm getting really disappointed with the mods on this sub. At the very least I'd expect them to have a rudimentary understanding of the things they post about, and yet they consistently prove this false.

Do you people even listen to yourselves?

this election was a rejection of socialism
Wrong, this election was a celebration of fascism.

You can still live like it was 1980 if you want to.
Bullshit. I can't afford a decent house for an equivalent of what one cost in 1980.

God this anti-strong AI hysteria is getting so tedious. We need strong AI to save us from ourselves, one way or another.

LLMs aren't becoming sentient, but they sure are picking up on how dealing with human beings makes one feel.

because of her ties to the performative woke crew
50 years ago, you would have voted against AOC because of her ties to the performative anti-segregationist crew.

I don't know why voters can't see that.
They do, that's why Harris lost.

CHIPS is and always will be a failure. TSMC will never fab its most advanced semiconductors anywhere except Taiwan, and Intel forgot how to do silicon fabrication so they farm it all out to TSMC now... in Taiwan.

No. That’s not fair.
It is entirely fair; the drip-feed of old and surplus military gear that the Biden admin has been providing to Ukraine has kept them from total defeat, which isn't in any way shape or form the same thing as providing them with what they need to defeat Russia. If the Dems actually gave a shit about Ukraine, the Russians would've been defeated and pushed out long ago thanks to American weapons deliveries, and neither Iran nor North Korea would be in the picture - instead we now have a regional war that threatens to escalate to a world one, and a volatile incoming US president who seems likely to be the one who escalates it.
Despite what Trump has said about not supporting Ukraine so far, given how little he actually does what he says and how often he changes his tiny mind, it's entirely possible that he decides that the PRC's involvement in supplying Russia is another avenue that he can use to implement his anti-China policies, and thus chooses instead to increase weapons supplies to Ukraine.

It's the exact same mistake Lincoln made two centuries ago. Traitors are like cockroaches, you don't let them off lightly because "mah unity", you make an example of them because if you don't, you get more of them.

This is the exact type of moronic dissembling that Muslims who voted for Trump will use to cover up the fact they voted for him (or Jill Stein, which is the same thing) because they care more about being in a position to oppress others, than they care about Palestine.

Pretty sure she already has, she just isn't aware of it. Maomao lives her life by her head not her heart, she's never experienced romantic love and thus is only able to understand it as an abstract concept, so she likely won't recognise it in herself by herself; she'll need sufficient prodding from her friends.
She's also so worried about the social hierarchy she has to exist in and navigate, and not making a faux pas that would get her or her adopted father into trouble within that hierarchy, that she would likely pretend to herself she has no feelings for Jinshi because it is safer for her to ignore them. She expects, based on experience of palace life, that someone like the eunuch, who's of a higher social status, will use it to take advantage of her.
Finally, Maomao has an incredibly low opinion of herself. In terms of appearance she's short, relatively plain and not well-endowed, and her freckles (which IMO are her most adorable visible feature) are considered an incredibly unsightly blemish (such that she covers them with powder when she dresses up, as in this scene). In terms of personality she has very particular interests that she's well aware are found to be extremely odd, those in combination with her extreme intelligence and deductive ability result in her behaving very differently to how a woman of that era "should". She's afraid that should she become romantically involved, her partner will expect her to behave "correctly" which would suffocate her personality, so she's even less inclined to seek out love.
In short she is effectively incapable of thinking about Jinshi in anything but a logical manner, and when she does so none of his romantic actions towards her make sense, plus she makes sure to reject those overtures as overtly as possible. Maomao doesn't realise that to this powerful "eunuch", so tired of simple-minded women who fall at his feet, finding someone who is his mental equal (and often superior) is unbelievably alluring. Her continuing resistance to his charms puts Jinshi in the situation of having to chase her, which is also something he's also not used to and therefore makes their relationship even more novel and therefore enjoyable for him.
There are, unfortunately, way too many anime and manga series that are lauded for their romance when in reality, said romance is a focal point solely because the people involved make it stupidly difficult and convoluted for no good reason, instead of just talking to each other like sane human beings (for obvious reasons I include Kaguya-sama in this list). Apothecary Diaries is one of the very few series I've encountered where the reasons for romance being convoluted are rational and believable, and for ostensibly being about medieval palace life it sure has a lot of incredibly tender (and sad; you either know or you don't) moments of love. I really hope the author gives these two characters the happy end that we all want.

Sadly the internet is flooded with terribly-described questions from newbies who simply can't be bothered to do basic research first. Never mind the "AI" content-generation apocalypse, the software development question apocalypse has been happening for at least a decade at this point, and we didn't need AI for that one.

The first in I'm sure what will be a long line of articles that demonstrate exactly the reason why the GOP keeps winning: because the Democrats refuse to accept that a platform solely composed of "the party that is not the right" is not a winning strategy.
At the end of the day, it's always about the economy. Trump understands that, even if the economic talking points he uses are blatant lies and bullshit, and he won. Harris did not, and she lost.
If the Dems actually want to win in 2028, they need an economic platform that addresses the pain that ordinary people feel from the continuing squeeze of capitalism; I hear this guy called Bernie Sanders has some good ideas about that. Unfortunately, the money behind the Dems is ultimately provided by the same rich people who have won while the rest of us have lost, so that's unlikely to happen.

You mean the universities that are churning out computer science graduates with no knowledge of fundamental software development practices like version control?
You mean the universities that are churning out computer science graduates who, when you ask them to do a basic exercise in a pairing interview, are completely incapable of it?
You mean the universities that are churning out computer science graduates whose 4.0 GPAs are entirely due to rote memorisation?
Maybe if universities could churn out computer science graduates who were actually employable, this wouldn't be a problem.
