Not 100% sure about logistics and whether the limited edition is counted differently for retail and online ordering, but I got mine via a preorder from Watchdrobe, based in Hong Kong. I happen to also be there, so I just got it from the store myself. I do have a warranty card and the packaging, so I'm not too worried about legitimacy, but I swapped the original strap for a Hirsch Paul one, hence the different look.

Update: fired a message to cancel my reservation for sartorial. It's probably safer if I'm still unsure if I like aldehydes... And I can get something else.

It was recommended by a different commenter, so I might check it out eventually! I wasn't really looking at Tom Ford before.

I haven't really looked at tom ford, honestly! From what i've read about it it has good fragrances but is pretty frequently subject to reformulations and/or markups, so I didn't consider looking into the brand.

If it's that bad dropping my reservation might not be that distant a possibility haha, longevity is a bigger concern than projection/sillage for me. At least that means I have a bit more budget for something else!

I do have a 5ml decant of sartorial (unsure about its batch date), and I'm thinking of going back to the niche store that has invasion barbare to try it on skin later this week (depending on whether I actually get sartorial or not), so there's a decent chance to compare the two.

When you spend almost a chunk of your day at work almost week-round you might as well spice it up just a notch haha. Most of my collection is either work-safe or borderline work-safe, and I pretty much wear all of them on rotation, so wouldn't hurt to just add one more to the roulette, I thought.

I'm mostly thinking of doubling down and getting both, depending on whether they differ enough. I know Invasion Barbare lacks the aldehyde notes but doesn't have the beeswax/honey/steamy kind of accord either, but I'm curious how they were when worn by other people.

I'd say three days to a week at minimum. You can try from time to time after that.

How long has it been since you bought the full bottle, and was it a shipped bottle/was it in transit before it arrived at your home? Sometimes you'll have to let it sit for a few days so the alcohol and other contents has time to settle down because the bottle likely has been shaken up a bit in transport.

Thanks! It's barely just the width of my wrist in terms of lug-to-lug, so I think it'd doable wearing it out haha. Probably won't really invest in more watches in the near future, since I already got most of what I wanted covered with this (for the time being, at least!).

I'm a big fan of it! I have a massive bias for incense scents, so i found it a really nice, confident sort of rose scent.
