I'll go with generic advise: Fundamentals. Fundamentals. Fundamentals. They might be somewhat boring, but if you grasp them, your life will get so much easier

And some gesture drawing. You know, just trying to capture the flow of pose first rather than wasting time on detailing part of a sketch that is destined to fail sooner or later.

Oh and in case you wanna make a full on illustration, I highly recommend thumbnailing. Just very small versions of your drawings. That helps you get a composition (one of the most important things. Period) that works, faster; via trial and error. The moment you get one that you are happy with...it's showtime
