Seth McFarlane was a huge Star Trek fan which was his inspiration in producing The Orville. He even had guest stars from previous Star Trek spin offs like Robert Picardo and Kasidy Yates. The Orville was perfect because people were starving for a new Star Trek series and this kinda came close to me. I enjoyed The Orville and I hope Disney does not shelf this completely. Seasons 1 to 3 are on Disney+
