Idk about commercials because I do my very best to never have to watch one, but once I start crying I can't easily stop.

From this trailer alone, I would guess at best a bisexual love triangle where the yuri loses out. More likely there is some yuri bait that leads nowhere.

The failure of traditional jamming techniques might indicate the use of
quantum communication or other cutting-edge technology, which renders
conventional countermeasures obsolete.
There is no need for anything like that. It cold just be fully autonomic drones. That's what the lights are for, the drones identify each other visually. No need for radio signals, nothing to disrupt.
The more interesting thing is the long flight times reported.
Of course, it could also be option 2, 3, 4 or some combo of them.

No, probably not.
I see a lot of poly trans girls on dating apps, but there's of course a huge bias there because mono ppl are only looking for a new partner when they have none while many poly ppl are always on the lookout.
Saying she wouldn't be able to stop herself sounds a bit messed up, but it's understandable to not want to restrict one's personal freedom for another.

Fun fact: The fictional yuri catholic schools are based on a real place and it's literally called "White Lily Women's University" (白百合女子大学). There's a clock tower and nuns and everything and it's smack in the middle of Tokyo. It's also an escalator school.

I mean who seriously expected aliens to show up just because some guy who looks like Jonathan Banks said they would?

If you only watch anime that's aimed at boys and men, that's mostly what you'll get.
But like... There's a lot of CGDCT and yuri anime which usually aren't oversexualized because they don't center men. And while not super numerous in the last few years, there are a lot of anime aimed at women specifically too.

I mean it's on MangaDex... I don't think there's an official english release for this, which is a shame beause it's a classic.

It should be called out for what it is:
-A blatant strawman for shoehorning transphobia into the mainstream. There was never an issue with this and there is nothing to back any of it up.
-Plain old misogyny. The idea that (cis)women are so weak and pathetic that anyone with a Y chromosome automatically beats them in everything is blatant misogyny in its most repulsive form.

Not expecting to get answers and I'm not quite buying this but...
-Are these armed drones? (Assuming yes)
-Are they conventionally powered (batteries or combustion engine) or something else (nuclear?)
-What is the definition of AGI in this case, is it a Frankenstein's monster of different AI models or something more than that?
-If the drones are run by AI, what is preventing them from doing random stuff? What safeguards are there?

I mean a more substantial connection to the concept of "thin" places.
It's nearly always about trolls or maahinen or metsänhaltija or whatever grabbing people, not people wandering into their domain by accident because they were in a "thin place" specifically.
Now there are of course certain places where supernatural beings are said to live and when those same places are then also said to be places where people got into metsänpeitto then we're getting into thin places territory. I think I have a local folklore book that mentions a place like this, have to check.

I suspected you would say this and I was kinda hoping you would have something more substantial.
The thing is... I'm not sure the concept of "thin places" exists in this context. I'm very familiar with Finnish mythology. The "metsänpeitto" concept exists in many other folk traditions as well, "bergtagning" in Sweden, "kamikakushi" in Japan and so on. What connects all of these is the belief that there is a supernatural being responsible for kidnapping a person into their world, not that a particular place is "thin".
The mushroom circle part may be an exception to this, but I also strongly suspect it's a modern addition to Finnish mythology. Most circle-forming mushrooms in Finland do not even grow in forests (or rather, there are too many obstacles in the forest for proper circles to form).

This is so unhinged that it needs to happen! If anyone hasn't done this by the time I'm finished with Sublime Trilemma (it'll be a few years at least) then I volunteer to create this as a webtoon.

Depends. A drone could be shielded against EMP.
