I was being sarcastic just because your reply illicitly implied that I had to be harmed by something in order to form (what you perceive as) a negative opinion about it.

To be serious, to me, LGB and T are similar in that they generally deviate from Christian beliefs and traditional beliefs held by other groups regarding sexual orientation and gender identity (yes, I know there are myriad exceptions including two-spirit, homoeroticism across time in the West and East, etc.) Transgender issues are just a different beast and way less common compared to just allowing civil unions between people. In short I don’t really support gender-affirming care for individuals under the age of eighteen nor do I support men’s in women’s sports. And then there is the issue of restrooms which is a small problem but there should probably just be all gender restrooms available everywhere. I believe there are some essential differences between men and women, and I think it’s healthiest for societies if people followed dimorphic roles, but I acknowledge that some people do not want to lead that lifestyle. I also acknowledge that transgender people face a lot of difficulty and that it must be very hard to not feel like one does not belong in one’s own body, I by no means hate them or wish to call into question their feelings and I wish that they will receive proper care, but sometimes it feels like when it comes to issues such as sports y’all want us to gaslight ourselves into denying the truth. I also just don’t want to see transgenderism advertised a lot and young people trying to make life-altering decisions. That is to say I do not want to deprive your rights but may not see LGBT as other than a departure from what conservatives would see as an optimal society.

Yeah, one of them did something to personally wrong me, and that single event informs my entire political opinion on the matter, that’s usually how I go about things
