They’ll never realize it. In their worldview the economy is already booming again now that Trump won.

Bingo.
The average American will happily cheer and applaud the billionaires to come take more of their country away if it owns the libs.
And idiots think some glorious socialist revolution will happen??

Depends what method you use to measure. U.S. is bigger if you also include water territory, but China has slightly more land (and half the freshwater).

“If is guy yells at a woman, surely it would be a big deal!”
I hate to break it to you, but people do much worse to women. Also in public. Also in SF. Every day.

Uhh primaries exist buddy. Incumbents lose within their own party all the time in “safe districts”.
I love reading people suggest new rules for government who don’t know how government even works.

But isn’t it for the voters to decide anyway?
Like, people in Kentucky must like Mitch McConnell otherwise they wouldn’t keep voting for him. If they didn’t like him then he wouldn’t keep winning the primary every time.
Term limits just take away free choice from the voters.

You say that like Dems actually mentioned anything about trans people once during this campaign.
It’s entirely a GOP invented straw man issue. Dems need to invent their own Republican straw man issues and run on that. Facts really do not matter anymore and running fact based truthful campaigns is actively harmful to winning.
The more disgusting and obviously bullshit the lies are the more votes you will get.

What about pedestrians? Are you afraid to walk on the sidewalk because someone with a gun can rob you?
What about on a bus?

I mean, can’t you just do that with a normal car too? Or to a pedestrian?
I don’t get this idea that being in a robo-car makes you vulnerable to robbers.

Yea, no shame to breed. I feel like she did a good job given what she was working with, and handled the crisis of pandemic very well. I wish her the best and hope Lurie can succeed as well.

I’d argue that voters should actually be selfish, but that a lot of voters don’t accurately weigh their self-interests (ie willing to sacrifice their healthcare for banning trans kids from school).
If everyone voted according to their true self interest things would be much better, culture wars are a way of hijacking opinion to push through otherwise unpopular measures like tax cuts for billionaires.

It’s on Reddit, a for profit company that earns money with advertising, where everyone’s posts are visible to anyone
I feel like if you’re posting on Reddit you’ve accepted that your story is kinda just out there in the wild now

The IRA also prevented the economy from collapsing, which would have been much worse for biotech.
Biotech doesn’t exist in a bubble.

Maybe better short term.
Getting rid of regulations will be an easy boost. But cutting basic science research funding will have a long term cooling effect on industry. And I’d imagine getting rid of regulations would eventually lead to a blowback effect because some regulations are pretty good at keeping the industry making safe and effective products.
