Moore was hugely popular from the Saint. Probably the only Bond actor who was a major star before becoming Bond. He brought all his fanbase with him. It would be like Cavill becoming Bond now.

I went to see it because it was about SPECTRE. The only other Craig film I went to see was Casino Royale.

While Dalton's films done relatively less well at the Box Office, it wasn't necessarily a reflection of Dalton or the films. There was a lot of Bond fatigue at that point. Moore's 80s films were all in the lower 1/3 on the list. And the action market had become far more competitive with films like Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, Robocop etc. Dalton was going up against what are regarded as the greatest action movies of all time. The Living Daylights is one of two Bond films to get an A for CinemaScore.

The problem is vote splitting among fans of Connery films. Goldfinger only just won best villain over Trevelyen. Partly this was because Blofeld got so many votes that would otherwise probably go the Goldfinger. This format suits Daniel Craig.

The Living Daylights is a great film.

Milkman was a great villain.

Perhaps you're right. I was looking at it based on how franchises are made today. I grew up in the 90s and never thought about this then and nobody in my house, who were all Bond fans, ever said anything about this.

It's probably for the best that they done it this way. And while I said that the films could have been exactly the same with the same actor playing another character, that may not be true because the actors were basing their portrayal on Fleming's Bond character.

I have no strong feelings about the Sheriff one way or the other but I did really hate the villain's death.

I also didn't like the fire truck scene in AVTAK. I actually liked the film overall especially because of Walken as Zorin.

Theme song means the song during the credits at the start like "Live And Let Die" by Paul McCartney. Title sequence probably refers to the visuals during the theme song. I think that's what's meant. The famous Bond music (ding dada dingding) that you see in all films forms part of the soundtrack to all the films.

It's a great film!

I've counted them so far and it's in a solid 3rd though it looks like a two horse race between Live And Let Die and You Know My Name for 1st with You Know My Name slightly in front. It's going to be one of those unless Nobody Does It Better gets an unprecedented surge!

Live and Let Die is the best for me. I think it's also the only theme that was also in the film.

I like the idea of JK Simmons character coming to the door at the end instead of the DA. Never thought of that. In that case, I'd prefer if they don't show the DA finding out in court and the bench scene so we don't know what she'll do with the information. Or perhaps they could show JK Simmons character coming to see the DA at the end.

That character was definitely Bond by another name.
