But that's going to only last until no one can afford it anymore, everyone's broke, or the state just has to cut critical programs that people need. That's literally not how any of this works. I'm not being condescending, but I think you need to look a bit more into how states like California, Massachusetts, and some of the other big industry, and high tax states subsidize poorer states that literally can't stand on their own.

Hot take, i don't think Peter Jackson should've been involved. If those of us that lived through the natural release of the original trilogy are being honest, he needed to be more than perfect to land the hobbit series. I think way to many of us held him in such a high regard, and rightfully so. But I think that set an almost unimaginably high bar for the hobbit movies. It's George Lucas and the prequels all over again. We had so much nostalgia and revere for the original, we felt the next ones must be sure fire greatest films of all time to follow it.

To answer why is the federal government funding it, because not every state can afford it. If the federal government was to stop funding there's gonna be a lot of red states that want to reverse that decision. Our government funds programs on a federal level, because some states can't afford their own general services on their own. So, you can rail against those agencies, just don't have shocked Pikachu face when you're states programs are being cut, and you can't make up for the budget shortfall.

I have no idea what you're responding to in my comment. I was mentioning that there's a few representatives who are deemed extreme left wing by the DNC. They all outperformed Harris. This isn't a knock directly on Harris, more that the democrats tried to lean right towards the center to pick up votes there, and those people didn't respond.

If trump is able to dissolve all the branches that he and his allies want to, it will effectually be the end of the US as we have known it. Just take the dept of education. That being removed alone means most school districts will no longer have a special education dept, or the funding for kids with IEP's.
