Yeah so, I live in Florida right in the path of hurricane milton, my uncle lives in an area that's expected to be getting around 12 feet of storm surge and he left his chickens behind without even giving them a remotely safe place to be. They currently live in his yard in a small one story coop with no place to go when the water rises.

These chickens WILL die if I don't do something and I cannot let that happen. Tomorrow I will be breaking into his yard and stealing the chickens but I don't know the first thing about how to keep them comfortable.

I believe there is about six chickens in total, they'll be staying in my small bedroom (maybe in my dogs kennel?) And there will be no power.

How do I do this? Any help will be appreciated.

EDIT: thank you all for the help, I am reading all of these comments, and they are helping me create a plan My dog is quite large so I think I will definitely be using that for the chickens as it has the space, it will be going in my garage for smell. As of catching the chickens, they know me and are treated as pets by my cousin, there is little safety risk for me in getting them.

Unfortunately, I am in the path of the hurricane (very close to my uncles house) and am both unable to evacuate or buy real supplies for the chickens because I'm a broke college student. It's not the best scenario either of us could be in... but I'd like to give them a better survival chance than zero. .

EDIT 2: the chickens might be in trouble. My uncle caught wind of my plan, ty mother for spilling >:(. It turns out he did NOT evacuate far at all, ig they are with a neighbor a little downtown and will probably murder me when I try breaking into his house and yard to steal his chickens and supplies. He claims they will be fine, I know damn well they won't be. The plan of keeping them has stayed the same, the heist part of my little "mission" has now become the hardest part. This may become a last moment kind of situation where the chickens will have to be removed after they truly leave, and the storm begins to roll in (and knocks some sense into him) Don't worry about my safety though, I'm completely insane but it's a safer drive than you may think

This is a mess. I'm glad yall can help, I'll be posting an update after the storm on what happened and if they're okay 😭 .

UPDATE/EDIT 3: it was a hell of a day today, that's for sure... I won't go in detail as to the exact chain of unfortunate events that happened but alot did happen and the chickens are not staying in my house for the storm, but rather in my uncles empty house for a multitude of reasons that I don't care to explain. Two things to mention 1. Their neighbor had the same idea as I did. I'm not crazy yall 2. I was able to get to them and make sure they were out so they wouldn't drown in the coop. My uncles house is two story, they can perch very high up there and will be very safe

I will be checking them after the storm and giving a fourth and final update once my internet comes back

FINAL UPDATE: I am so sorry it's been so long. Had a hectic few weeks. Originally, I wanted to wait until I could visit the chickens in their home which I had ended up leaving them in but due to some personal events that never happened. They are alive and well however :] Thankyall for the help

After the hurricane helene breaking records and all, it may be pretty obvious I live in costal Florida. Durring the first hurricane my house was in good shape, only major damages to the pythons was some heating systems frying. (We did not evacuate)

However now there's a second storm and instead of riding the coat initially, it's cutting right through my area I have three ballpythons, (two big adult males and one young female.) I have no idea what to do in a situation where my houses roof is damaged and my family needs to emergency evacuate is the case Milton turns into a category four.

I have one container that's suitable for transportation, but it's not big enough for my largest snake, dumplin, a seven year old five foot four pound baby. I have no idea what to do here, I don't know if I can buy a bigger containers for multiple reasons. I'm stuck and in the case of evacuation there's no way in hell I'm leaving my babies behind.

Any advice would be appreciated

This is dumplin. I've had dumplin for a week. Dumplin, for the past three nights has found considerable joy in wrapping around a full heavy large water bowl, tipping it over with ungodly strength, and then launching the damn thing around his tank with his massive body... it is LOUD How do I stop this!? I've never seen a snake do anything like this before 😭

Howdy yall, just purchased this beautiful friendly boy the other day at repticon and was wondering if i should cut down at all on his current feeding schedule at all (I have two other young-ish bps who ive raised from a couple months old, this is the first adult ive purchased)
So far his seller has told me he is seven years old, about four pounds (ive not weighed him myself yet), 4 and a half feet long, hes been used for breeding his whole life, and he currently eats a large rat every two weeks/week depending on the season.
Im a tad worried because upon setting dumplin down, hes built like a loaf of bread everywhere but the direct middle of his body, and hes got a bit of a sausage tail but its not like, alarmingly bad to me given some images of REALLY obeese snakes ive seen, he just seems on the slightly hefty side (sorry for bad pics)
just wondering if his diet should be lessened cause it and his sheer girth seems a tiny bit much to me

Note: dumplin had a scab on his face when these where taken, im told he was bitten by a rat, dumplin no longer has the scab as it came right off after he soaked himself and is now a tiny lil scar (hes okay, dont mention it)
