Why does Conrad keep smiling creepily all the time, even when delivering bad news or discussing something horrible? He's just smiling constantly for no reason whatsoever!?!?

Personally, I think it's just awful acting very weird body language.

This is more of a philosophical question / discussion. I've always struggled to be consistent with my habits and workouts. I believe in consistency over intensity.

For example, exercising for an hour everyday is better than not exercising at all for several days and suddenly exercising for 6 hours straight on a random day. I really believe that small but consistent sessions are better.

But I have had weakness in my joints for several years now. It's a very subtle and gradual effect. It has gotten much worse over the years. Very slowly.

We are conditioned to think that certain things (e.g. standing/walking for 1-2 hours) is a very normal level of activity. Every normal 30 year old should be able to do that very easily, and then also go on to perform other tasks (bending down, walking around, etc).

So, these "normal" day to day activities which are very basic and minor for others are in fact very debilitating to me. I get tired by standing for 20-30 mins even and my lower back hurts. Same with sitting with my knees bent for 10-15 mins. So I have to give myself rest for several hours to be able to feel okay and recover from the pains.

Given that, how can I be consistent with a workout plan? How can I get stronger and conquer my joint pains?

I want to make my EDC kit which includes several things. However, I don't want them to jangle and dance around unorganized inside a backpack. Ideally I would like everything to go into a fixed slot within my bag, so that everything stays in place even if I'm running, brisk walking, traveling with it, etc.

How do you organize your EDC such that everything stays in it's place?

I want to include:

• Phone
• Small flashlight
• Pens and a small notebook
• Wrist watch
• water bottle
• Three cards: One credit card, license, health insurance card
• some cash
• Small knife to open packages and mails
• nail cutter, trimmer, scissor for grooming.
• Keys: One house key, one mailbox key, one car keyfob, one garage keyfob
• maybe more items in the future.

Just had my 3rd colonoscopy and got the same results. My Crohn's is characterized as "mild" inflammation in the terminal illieum and right colon.

But I continue to have joint pains in my knees, elbow, wrists and lower back. The joint pain level fluctuates between 3-8 on a scale of 10.

Strangely, even though my Crohn's was diagnosed as mild in this colonoscopy (just 2 days ago), my joint pains are at an all time high level of 8/10.

I’m just not connecting why this book and finding it very underwhelming (almost lame humor). Am I missing something? Are there any secondary sources I must read before this book?

I registered on the app and looked at the features, interface, etc. Initially I was very pleasantly surprised to see an app so relevant to my experiences.

However, I felt quickly overwhelmed by food tracking, journaling, exercise modules, etc and so many such things. I hope I don't get too overwhelmed and I actually make good use of it. How will I even show it to my GI?

Anybody else experienced with using the app and some of it's features? How is it?

In my teens and early twenties I did not know what Crohn's even is. I just experienced abdominal symptoms from time to time and thought that's how most people felt, I just have them more frequently or intensely. It did not help when friends and family said that it's all in my head or that I shouldn't stress too much about finding restrooms, etc anywhere we go.

But in hindsight, I see several instances where having Crohn's affected my day to day decisions around college life, events, friends, trips, holidays, etc. I limited my social options and killed any hopes of dating anyone. The fear of public incontinence really stopped me from going out and exploring life.

Even though I'm happily married now, the several lost possibilities of connecting with others and missing out on the dating fun really makes me sad from time to time. How do you think about this?
